Tomorrow is yesterday.

A truly interesting sci-fi read!

This was an interesting read. The plot was original and the science fiction part follows already established scientific theories, making the story more believable. It certainly was thought provoking and caused me to pause to think about the events happening in the book and to look up some of the science, not out of confusion but curiosity.

The writing style is non-linerar in that it bounces between past and present. But it is also linear in that the present entries are in reverse, the story unfolding backwards. It takes a minute to wrap your head around what is happening, but once you grasp the concept it's fascinating and captivating. It's a race against time, literally.

While the verbiage and writing style itself is pretty straight-forward and easy to understand without needing a dictionary of scientific jargon, the non-liner/reverse linear aspect of the plot can make this book a challenge at first. Go into this book with an open mind and give yourself moments to reflect on what is actually happening. There is some exciting action and government espionage, but also some wonderful human moments that help ground the story in... realness.

The story does not end on a cliffhanger. You could certainly walk away from the finished book wuth a sense of completion. But it does end with enough unknown and hints at what comes after to leave the reader wanting to seek out the next part of the story.

For Audiobook readers: Shawn Compton does a good job with the narration. His characters are fairly easily discernible from one another. His female voices are nicely done, taking on a softer tone rather than a higher pitch. He is pleasant to listen to, easy to understand, and speaks with a good pace and cadence. All in all, I was pleased with Mobius and look forward to book 2 in this series and more book from Brandon Q. Morris.

Wow! Great find.

Out of my close to 300 Audible titles, this is only the 3rd I’ve taken the time to review. I love time travel and paradox stories. This story takes a different approach than most. The story progresses in such an odd way that I had to listen a second time to really grasp it before I could begin the second book. It was awesome!
I had the benefit of having listened to professor Carroll’s lecture on time many times and this still made my brain hurt.
I don’t want to ruin it with spoilers. I highly recommend the trilogy. The performance by the reader was also very good. I especially enjoyed having one of my physicist hero’s mentioned in the credits. A first for me. :) Enjoy

Worth the Trade Off

Maybe I have low expectations but I typically expect to trade some amount of story telling or writing craft for true science based fiction. With that said, the science based mind bending fiction far outweighs any quirks in the authors style in my opinion. No, Morris is not Stephen King, or even Craig Alanson, from a story telling perspective but the mind bending science puzzles throughout more than make up for that for me. If new science based ideas and dreaming is your thing, I would definitely give this a listen.

NOTE: I only provide a written review of about 2 percent of the over 300 titles I have listened to and feel compelled to mention that the people who gave this one star need to check themselves. This might not be 5 stars, but is definitely not 1. They should check themselves or try writing something other than a poorly spelled, grammatically incorrect, book review.

Intriguing concept well executed

The writing was good and all the hints along the way added up logically. Well grounded in current science (as if I would know. He includes a final chapter that explains concepts) I will buy the next two.
