Publisher's summary

At a glance, the dwarves and gnomes of the Horkensaft Kingdom are two peoples who are worlds apart. The former are seen as hardcore traditionalists hell-bent on maintaining the status quo, while the latter only look ever forward and upward as they grasp at the future with both hands. And yet, these two seemingly opposing cultures serve as a counter-balance to each other, creating a civilization that draws upon the wisdom of the past to face new challenges. Whether that is actually the case or mere propaganda will soon to be put to the test, as they are about to receive a visit from the Hero of Chaos. The enigmatic herald of change has already fostered a well-deserved reputation for setting things in motion by their presence, and only time will tell if the Kingdom of the stout-folk will survive the impending transition.

Though, once again, Boxxy doesn't actually care what ripples it causes. It isn't there to upset society or challenge the stagnant culture of all-work-no-play. Its goal is to track down an errant treasure that escaped its grasp while it was out of commission, and maybe secure some new pieces for its ever-growing collection along the way. Before it has a chance to, however, it must first deal with a significant issue that threatens to undo much of its work since its arrival in Azurvale. It is a challenge unlike any it has faced, and not one that it can hope to solve easily through force and violence. The limits of Boxxy's patience and self-control are about to be tested, as it looks desperately for a way...to leave the house.

A continuation of a masterpiece

As with all previous entries, I purchased the book, downloaded it, then listened to the whole thing in a single sitting - even during other taxes on my time.

The continued advances in adding sound effects and ambience to scenes brings the book to life perfectly. The vocal performance by the SBT team is amazing as always.

The only negative is: I'll have to wait for the next volume now! Curses!

Another brilliant entry

I can't get enough of this series, and it's not just because of how much the production quality has improved in recent volumes compared to the first few.

It's an engaging, interesting story with compelling characters - and in this series, time and time again I keep falling into the trap of expecting Boxy to act like a hero - only for him to behave in accordance with his monstrous nature. Brilliant.

Eagerly anticipating the next installment!

good book minus the music

during narration it makes it super hard to pick up words if the music is as loud as the narration itself. during the arrival to the dungeon the sounds made it very hard to stay listening to the book itf it was more in the background I'd liked it much more

Phenomenal

This story feels like a natural continuation to the previous books in the series. It's honestly been worth the wait of it, and I can't wait for the next. Definitely in my top favorite series

Too short

Love the Boxy stories, but it's always sad when I can finish one in a day. A part of me wishes they would wait to publish until they can combine two or three, but I understand the people want more.

This series was awesome!

I hope they make more of these. This whole series had me splitting with laughter. It’s not going to be for everyone, you have to be able to appreciate some pretty depraved and dark humor. These books are written exquisitely with just the right amount of rushed explanation to extreme elaboration of scenes and the carnage Boxy creates. This was fantastic.

Ok story, amazing sound and cast

The short is the story didn't do much for me. In my opinion not enough of our weird box shenanigans. I have come to expect really good storytelling, weird and witty humor and banting, it lacked a little in this book. So, its average.

However, the work Jeff Hayes and his crew does with voice acting, sound effects and just pure quality is out of this world. Some parts must have taken a lot of time and effort to edit and set up. Lots of sound effects mixed with layers of layers of sometimes same voice actor. I was amazed, really good,
