Publisher's summary

Trapped between worlds. Potentia might be the way out. Time to kill Something.

Luke is an apprentice leather worker, training with his family to one day take over the business. He and his friends Andre, Taylor, and Zed have known each other forever, and swear that nothing will ever tear apart their friendship.

Then the Royal Decree comes. With the Dynasty of Dogs invading, and strange monsters appearing in the Hollow Kingdom, a draft has been implemented. Everyone 17 or older is required to be tested for "Potential". If they have it, they will join the mysterious and renowned Ascender Corps. If not, they will be drafted into the Legion as a forced recruit.

Three of the friends test as powerful, or dangerous, classes of Ascender. Luke is found to have Potential, barely, but when he steps through the portal to begin his training…he is pulled to a plane that shouldn't exist. With no class trainer, the possibility of survival is low. Luke decides that he wants to live, and keeping his humanity isn't going to help.

His best chance is going Full Murderhobo.

New narrator grew on me

I was skeptical about the new narrator and i remember that about an hour into the listen i had to confirm that DK was indeed the author because the cadence i was used to changed and the feel of this book changed with it.
While i admit to being initially upset i chose to let go of my preconceptions and fall into the book.
There are some small problems in character and story focus but i definitely dont regret the credit.
I found myself laughing out loud during some of Lukes adventure and during the post-story narrator bloopers. (i would suggest a small intro or transition into those as it was mildly jarring to finish the story and immediately hear the bloopers unwarned)

Possibly Better Than Divine Dungeon Series

After hearing the mad ravings of kindle readers for the last few month, I was excited to finally get to listen to Something Full Murderhobo. TL/DR: Completely worth the credit and an exciting start to a new series.

There are parts that are a bit cringeworthy, seem to be repetitive, and small points of dragging during the story but overall was a fantastic read. This is definitely a foundation world building book so there’s more details to set the stage that can slow the story in parts but still enjoyable. The characters are weird but in a good way and I’m stoked to see the next book. Definitely top 10 LitRPG series for me.

All in all, a great beginning to an amazing story. I recommend the credit and sharing with your friends. Enjoy.

I hate that it ended

We need to preserve Dakota head like in Futurama so he never stops making these masterpieces.

fantastic

was on the fence because of the reviews, it jumps between 3 characters for a good portion of the books but it's well worth it, hilariously stupid at times, and very easy to follow along even while working.

Very funny and creative story

Great start to a good story. MC is funny to me even though he is not in his right mind most of the time.

A completely different book from DK

This book falls heavy onto dialogue. Dialogue is used as an alternative to world building, which is worsened by the overall pacing. Too fast.

This book feels like an enjoyable game of DND with friends; none of the characters are likeable or really that interesting.

I'm really impressed by this narrator.
