My name is Max Tyco. I will become the most powerful Guardian in the Universe. This is my story.

Max Tyco is a truck driver on the road more days than he's home. Events are about to transpire that will lead this everyday Joe on an adventure of a lifetime. Things like traveling through space, starships, alien monsters, and blasters have all been daydreams...until now.

The Rowki is a fraternity of intergalactic guardians tasked with keeping the balance between the light and the darkness. A call for help from the oldest galaxy in the universe and the central planet in that galaxy will uncover an ancient secret that could mean the end of the universe as we know it.

Chosen for the depth of his potential, Max will have to commit to the Rowki or decide to go back home and forget he ever knew the truth. But the truth is out there and more horrifying than he could ever expect.

From the author that brought you Forsaken Mercenary and Gateway to the Galaxy comes your next sci-fi adventure. Grab your beverage of choice and get ready: you won't want to press pause on this world of AI, androids, spaceships and galactic knights.

Galactic Guardians hits hard and fast with a tongue-in-cheek tale of a widowed truck driver (Max Tyco) who goes from defending a rest stop from a robbery attempt to being abducted by aliens into the intergalactic version of the Foreign Legion. What follows is a romp through Space Boot Camp followed by an infantryman's tale full of adventure, humor and good old fashioned bloodshed. Sometimes I can’t decide if this is a fever dream of the protagonist or if the universe really is just a bit of a half-joke. Either way, the story works surprisingly well. Bravo to Jonathan for writing something refreshingly entertaining, with plenty of tummy tickling pop culture references sprinkled in for good measure.

I love science-fiction and I am willing to put up with a lot of in discrepancies in a book.
This Book was just OK enough for me to finish it. But I doubt if I’ll follow the story.

Not as good as I hoped

I liked the story mostly but not enough to for sure continue the series. Pretty decent characters and humor mixed in with adventure it just didn't pull me in to be invested. Narrator was great.

Max Tyco, an out of shape truck drive, becomes a dangerous warrior after training by the Rowky, a fraternity of intergalactic guardians. Max is a whinny trainee, but once in shape, he is a natural fighter, and becomes a key team member. Even then, he obsesses over his dead wife. This is a fun and enjoyable book.

While the writing is okay and there was a a lot going on the MC is boring. He’s selected because he’s special and has so much potential but you never see it in this book. Just a boring MC that doesn’t do anything special except be willing to die for everything. Plus it’s way too short, listened in a day of lawn work.
