Honeymoon, happily ever after, and . . . homicide?

Newlyweds Royce Locke and Sawyer Key embark on a honeymoon road trip where their biggest threat should be dodging drunk tourists on golf carts. But their arrival on South Bass Island lands them in the middle of a contentious battle between lifelong islanders and a property developer who won't accept no for an answer. Tempers soar as the barometric pressure drops, signaling a dangerous storm brewing on the horizon and across the street. Minding their own business becomes impossible when a homicide wrecks their vacation and puts Royce and Sawyer in the path of a twisted killer.

Will their honeymoon be two tickets to paradise or a one-way trip to the morgue?

Contains mature themes.

Aimee Nicole Walker is so good at combing a mystery with a beautiful love story. The adventure just hooks you in and leaves you wondering what’s going to happen next. I love the chemistry between the characters and how the story is told so vividly. A very enjoyable listen.

Nope, Swayer & Royce cannot be left alone. Even on their honeymoon, they find themselves embroiled in mystery and murder!

There is drama on the island of their vacation home: a developer trying to drive everyone out, some completely obnoxious rich kids stirring up trouble, and an impending storm.

No matter how much they want to enjoy newlywed bliss, neither can turn a blind eye to injustice and corruption. So instead, their romantic meals come with a side of questioning witnesses!

But they also prove why they are such incredible people, and will make fantastic parents.

This book was a charming resolution to an entertaining series packed with mystery, romance, and Southern style drama.

The narrator has a pleasant voice, and his overall performance was good with the exception of a few moments where emphasis on certain words felt off.

Worth the listen. I will be hunting down the other stories that are spin offs from this series.

Good story. Good narration.

Boy our boys cannot go anywhere without getting into trouble. So, they finally did it, our boys are married!! So off to their honeymoon they go to a family-owned cabin set on the banks of Lake Erie, I loved that it was in Ohio as that is where I live. So, when they get there, Sawyer feels that things are not the way he remembers them. Turns out that someone is buying all the property on the island and the only two privately own properties left are Sawyer's family home and their neighbor Frank, who Sawyer has known since he was a kid. Frank is having issues with 4 young adults that are renting the house next to his. There is loud music & drunken shenanigans & one of the boys is just right down mean. So, when the person that is trying to buy up all the land ends up dead, you guessed it our boys are pulled into the investigation. On top of this, there is a storm coming and its baton down the hatches & ride it out as they aren't leaving the island. It was nice to see that there wasn't anyone after Royce or Sawyer. With the murder mystery & the massive storm, our guys do get a chance to do a little celebrating. I loved seeing them more relaxed and just being with each other. I can't wait for our favorite Chief & Sheriff's book.
