A group of "workers" whose better judgement has been clouded by hopes and expectations have descended into the unknown depths of a mysterious tomb. These trespassers include the small but elite team Foresight, the storied warriors of Heavy Masher, the crew lead by a legendary elder worker, Green Leaf, and the invincible swordsmen of Angel. They are some of the best that can be hired, but as more and more vengeful residents of Nazarrick appear, will any make it out alive? The best story Of all time.
In my opinion, one of the greatest of the light novels. If you haven't listen to it yet or watch the anime, the first thing you should do.If you have never watched, the anime is to listen to these light novels.Second thing watch the anime

voice acting is great and fun, as always.

story is engaging and immersive. However much I enjoy the author's prose and descriptive taste, for how long these volumes are, very little actually occurs. This hits home more when you notice the pattern of getting the reader invested in someone that just gets immediately killed off.

Now, if the author's whole point is to make us think of the man who became Ainz and spineless and weak willed loser, it is of course, effective.

I still enjoy all of Ainz's scenes. I'm invested. But, his passive approach, communication issues, wildly unbalanced value of his "friends" can be irritating. Once again, if that's the point, it's great writing. But if I am supposed to empathize with him, I can only do so for interpersonal reasons. Bla. he's just irritating me. Still fun. really want more world building :)

Fun, but w/ somewhat bothersome pacing

the translations can be a bit, flat. For lack of a better term to describe it.

excellant listen. not much more to say, though that's probably due to me being tired as I write this

I'm pretty sure this is the only volume in the story where you actually get to see ainz at his most honest point. Overlord is a story that features a lot of acting/ role-playing. when Ainz takes on a roll of a villain... he's not acting anymore

well done narrative on top of narration! the anime was missing this much detail on character motivations that it really explains alot.

amazing!
