Working as a nanny for the world’s grumpiest single dad should have been simple. Except I can’t keep my eyes off him. And he can’t keep his hands off of me.

Cade Eaton is 13 years older than I am and barely looks my way. Until I get him into the hot tub one night for a game of truth or dare. Then all bets are off—and so are our clothes. He’s gruff, a little rough around the edges. But broad-shouldered ranchers with calloused hands and filthy mouths are this city girl’s kryptonite. So who am I to resist?

But it’s in our quiet moments together that he softens. It’s when he takes care of me that I realize his hardened exterior is just a façade. It’s when I watch him go all sweet with his little boy that I really fall for him.

Someone convinced him once that his best wasn’t good enough. But I’ve never felt more cherished than I do in his arms.

My contract may say this arrangement is only for two months.

But my heart says this is forever.

Oh I liked this better than the first book in the series by a long shot.

What to expect:
✅ Single dad and she's the nanny trope
✅ Grumpy x sunshine
✅ Forced Proximity
✅ Age gap
✅ Cowboy's.
✅ Small town romance
✅ Mutual pining and banter filled moments
✅ One of the funniest meet-cutes

So this book had some amazing tension and the chemistry was top tier. My only hang up was that I wished there was more follow through on a few of the storylines such as the small towns folk being meddlesome, the ex wife and her family. The story really focuses on the relationship between the team MCs and their makeshift family which is great but I think the story could've developed more. Our FMC is such a fiery red head. I loved the part of this book when she gets all protective of the little boy. I'm so glad this was written in dual POV because we get to read about his thoughts and perspectives which was so swoony during that scene.

Elsie Silver’s “Heartless,” the latest in the Chestnut Springs series is AMAZING! Hands down, my favorite Elsie book to-date. And that’s saying something since I’ve read and loved everything she has published! Cade is friggin’ insanely hot, and we all should have a ride-or-die like Willa in our lives. These two sizzle like nobody’s business, and Elsie packs all the good stuff into this thoroughly entertaining and panty-combusting small-town romance. This book took me through all the feels, and there were points where my heart simply ached for the couple as they navigated their way to a well-deserved HEA. One of the best things about this story though…the entire cast of characters. From Cade’s adorable little boy to my 100% ALL-TIME favorite Elsie Silver character: Grandpa Harvey Eaton! I haven’t laughed so much while reading in a VERY long time! I loved the book in print, but listening to Stephen Dexter and Vanessa Edwin bringing the characters to life was absolute MAGIC! Dirty-talkin' Cade in the narrator's growly voice - oh my goodness!!! So incredibly special, Elsie Silver!

Loved the Book...ADORED it in Audio!!!

Story: 4/5

I actually like this book a lot more than the first one. But I really enjoyed both. This one just have one of the tropes I like a bit more (grumpy /sunshine).

The story was nice and it flowed well and smoothly. One thing I didn’t like was the way the MMC reacted to the news at the end. I did like that the separation was not longer. Also, the epilogue was not much of an epilogue. It felt more like a regular chapter. Wish to see how their lives were after the pregnancy.

I also really didn’t mind the young kid in the story. I usually avoid children in books but this one was well written.

Overall, very enjoyable story. Vanessa Edwin makes a really good male voice. Lol. And Stephen Dexter was great in this book.

I really liked this story

I absolutely love audiobooks. They make a book feel so real, and when Elsie emailed saying her books were going to be available on audio I was dying to listen. And she picked a new narrator to me! I absolutely loved it. It was exactly how I would have pictured the characters. I could honestly listen to it over and over again. The pure attraction between Willa & Cade is insane. Do yourself a favor and download this baby asap.
