  • S1 E7 [SEASON FINALE] Dialogue with Bain's Sam Israelit | Building a Sustainable Future: Inside the Intersection of Technology, Supply Chain, and Climate Action with Bain's Chief Sustainability Officer
    Feb 27 2023

From India to Indonesia, developing countries are faced with an energy challenge: how to meet their growing energy needs while scaling clean energy to curb carbon emissions. But with clean energy projects needing trillions of dollars to reach net-zero emissions by 2050, financing them can be a daunting task.
Did you know that researchers estimate anywhere between $1-2 trillion per year will be needed in the next 30 years to achieve this goal?
With most of this capital expected to come from the private sector, what challenges must we overcome to mobilize more clean energy investments in developing economies?
Join us as we delve into the unique financial, policy, and technical barriers holding us back and explore how we can catalyze private finance and build a cleaner, sustainable future for all. Today I talk to Sam Israelit. Sam is a Senior Partner and Chief Sustainability Officer at Bain & Company. Sam Israelit is the co-founder of our Enterprise Technology practice and a leader in Bain's Supply Chain Management practice. He has more than 26 years of management consulting experience, advising business leaders on their biggest opportunities and challenges.

He has significant experience helping them address challenges in inventory management, manufacturing efficiency, logistics and distribution, forecasting and planning, network optimization, strategic sourcing, order management and service parts.

He also has helped clients with large-scale cost transformation efforts, leading work with them on organization design, decision-making effectiveness, SG&A efficiency, IT operating model, shared services and merger integration

Sam earned an SM from the MIT Sloan School of Management in 1993. He also graduated from Harvey Mudd College in 1985, where he received both a BS and an MS in Engineering.
