Ahren and his companions journey on to Evergreen, finding new courage after the traumas of the Green Sea. Setting off, then, to traverse the continent in search of the missing Paladin Yollock, it isn't long before they find themselves sucked into a maelstrom of adventures involving a woman who has been robbed, a desperate Cape Verstaad grandee, not to mention a cutthroat city which proves itself a veritable nest of ne'er-do-wells. Controlled by the brilliant assassin Reik Silvermantle, this hub of lawlessness and immorality presents Ahren and his friends with one of their greatest challenges . . .

story line is great, I can't wait for the next book but I hope they bring Mr. Jackson back as the narrator because he real brings life to the story. The narrator in this story was not up to the standard set forth in the previous books of the series.

good story, bad narrator

The decision to switch narrators is super questionable as the previous one was by far excellent and the new one is bland and atrocious. I typically listen to books with enjoyable excitement but this narrator is lacking!

Overall great story

Love the story but the change of narrators made it tough to get through.

Changing narrators seldom goes well.

The narrator change was jarring at first listen. I hadn’t realized beforehand. I was very difficult to differentiate whom the narrator was speaking as. The need was far beyond the narrators ability to create distinct character voices.

That aside the story was good. Lacking the defined drama from other books. The writing seemed a bit different using simpler terms and descriptions.

Wish I could rate it better

This is really such a great series. Listen to 1-10, read 11 and listen again to 12-13.

Absolutely love the series but huge mistake switching readers on book 11
