The great powers are stirring, and Holt and Ash are ready to return to the fight.

A summons from the Life Elder sets them on a perilous mission, leading to steaming jungles and blistering islands where ancient secrets will challenge everything they know of magic and dragons.

Talia, the Red Queen, is beset on all sides by pirate raiders and marauding mercenaries. Empress Skadi has abandoned her, battling uprisings in her own lands. As the noose tightens on Feorlen, Talia faces a difficult choice: let her people suffer or turn her powers against mortal foes?

Osric Agravain has found hope with his newly bonded black dragon, but some wounds run deeper than flesh and bone. Along the Fallow Frontier, he seeks the inner peace that has long eluded him.

And within the sanctum at Falcaer, Paragon Adaskar is struggling to unite the fracturing riders. If he fails, ruinous chaos will break across the world.

For when Elders and Paragons quarrel, kingdoms will fall.

About the Creator - Michael R. Miller

About the Creator

Michael R. Miller: Hailing from the wet and wild west coast of Scotland, Michael enjoys writing stories as sweeping in scope as the ancient landscapes he grew up in. His writing is known for rich character arcs, tight pacing, and layered magic systems. Songs of Chaos is his love letter to the dragon rider sub-genre, drawing inspiration from the classics like Pern, Dragonlance, and Eragon and combining them with the harder magic systems of Branden Sanderson and Will Wight, creating an epic tale all ages can enjoy.
Michael is also ‘that guy’ who enjoys-well, enjoyed... -discussing the mad fan theories of Game of Thrones even more than the books or show, and knows more about World of Warcraft than is probably healthy.

About the Performer

Peter has been recording short stories, abridged and unabridged audiobooks since 1993 and has recorded upwards of 300 titles from authors as wide ranging as Iain M Banks, Andrzej Sapkowski, Claire North, Neill Gaiman, Kate Atkinson, Mo Hayder, and Robert Louis Stevenson. His recordings cover a wide range from factual, technical books through historical fiction and science fiction, to mystery thrillers, epic fantasy and biographies. His first recorded short story was Ansell by EM Forster for the BBC. Most recent recordings include: Ascension by Nicholas Binge, Defiant ( Songs of Chaos Book III) by Michael R. Miller, and in the shortly to be recorded list, The Observant Walker by John Wright and The Prophet & The Idiot by Jonas Johnasson.

A book of quickly expanding scope compared to the previous books. The investment you make by connecting with the characters in the previous books allows you to have an appreciation for the magnitude of what is happening. Just as unbound so quickly created situations the characters in ascendant wouldn’t have imagined, another step is made along that path. You will feel emotions and find yourself invested in ways that make you forget about fantasy and experience in your own reality. The balance of maintaining no success comes without failure and no victory is without equal sacrifice while still keeping this book light enough for a non-adult audience to consume is rare in the past generation of authors. Not to mention Peter Kenny’s ability to take ink on paper and pull you immersively into the story is without equal. I dare you to read this book and not feel as if you need to pick up a sword and join the cause!

I absolutely love the narrator he does a phenomenal job with the character voices. These books quickly became a part of my favorite dragon fantasy books of all time, alongside Eragon which I’ve re-read 7 times. The main characters are to live for, especially “Aberanth” and “Rake”. They’re the best. Even Audric earns my respect in this book. Highly recommend. Have listened to the first 2 books of these series twice, just finished my first listen of this one, and I will definitely be going back and listening again, and again, and again!!

I love these books. Can’t wait for more
