Crystal Frost tells herself she isn't crazy, but sane people don't see ghosts. As her psychic abilities manifest, Crystal discovers she can see into the future, witness the past, and speak with the dead. Add blackmail to the list of things she never thought would happen to her, and you basically have her sophomore year covered.

After spotting her first ghost, secrets from her family, friends, and classmates begin to surface. Uncovering secrets can be dangerous, but giving up means someone will get hurt. Again.

Fire in Frost (Crystal Frost Book 1) ~~ This was the book that pulled me straight into Crystal Frost’s world, and honestly, it hooked me faster than I expected. Crystal starts out thinking she’s just a normal teenage girl dealing with school, her mom’s metaphysical shop, and the usual drama… until she suddenly realizes she can see spirits. And not the cute, friendly kind. Her first run-in with Olivia’s ghost sets the tone — Crystal doesn’t get time to ease into her abilities. It’s thrown at her, full force, whether she’s ready or not.

I loved how realistic Crystal felt. She panics, she avoids the truth, she wants things to just be “normal.” That’s exactly how an actual teenager would react. Emma is her rock in all this — supportive, nosy, bossy in the best-friend way — and Derek plays that grounded role that keeps the group steady. Then there’s Robin… broody, standoffish, and absolutely the boy she’s not supposed to be thinking about, but of course she does.

The mystery of Olivia’s death gives this book real tension, and watching Crystal push past fear to actually do something about it made me love her more. This is a strong start to the series and sets up her abilities, her friendships, and her connection to Robin perfectly.

I would definitely recommend this book and series and can’t wait to start on the next book. If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to read this series yourself — you won’t regret it.
