Eric is a physicist, an angel vivisectionist, and an architect of the future.

He's also an accidental time traveler, stuck in the past and trying to re-create his own future.

Now he's got to save the world for a better tomorrow, but not like everyone does, in general, every day. Oh, no. He has to make a better tomorrow that looks exactly the way he remembers it, or there may be no yesterday, no today, and no Eric!

There is a reason he hates time travel, and it has nothing to do with physics.

Nightlord: Penumbra is the eighth book in the Nightlord series.

Early review: I am having trouble finishing this, it is just so tedious to listen to (despite Sean Runnette's always-excellent performance). and almost nothing happens for hours of listening at a time. Normally I enjoy when Garon Whited gets all technical about the workings of magic in his world (I am a computer programmer so I really love how he "programs" his spells), but I cannot get interested in trying to create a Sun for the world that just goes on and on. There is very minimal character interaction or development, just our favorite Night Lord working on his "honey do" list of magical chores. I am 10 hours into a 44-hour experience and hope I can make it! I went and read a bunch of other reviews to see if maybe it gets better if I wait it out, but all the reviews seem to agree with my assessment.

Updated review: the book does get more enjoyable once Eric start populating the defrosted planet and we leave the whole "create a sun" storyline behind. I'm 3/4 of the way through it, and enough interesting stuff is now happening that I can't wait to finish it to see what happens. I'm glad I stuck it out rather than quitting and returning it!

Patience! Book starts slow, gets way better!

I so was not ready for this one to end! There were some big moments in this. I can not say much with out spoilers. I love this series.

Thank you to Garon and his team for another great entry into this series!

This book is a twisting tale, just when you think you know what’s next it hits you with surprise

Awesome

This wasn’t the most action packed part of the series, but it was all necessary. There are times when a character isn’t going to be constantly involved in action packed battles with Michael Bay level explosions. This book is all about setting up the closing of the loop.

It is still a great story!

Slow, but important!
