A fun standalone or prequel to a series

Talemir has been charged with the task of killing whoever is responsible for tampering with the steel mines that produce the Warsword steel. When he finds the culprit, Drue, she immediately tries to kill him, saying she knows Talemir is a monster. As the story progresses, Drue and Talemir learn that maybe not everything touched by shadows is evil. If you like a charming and reformed rake, MMC. Plus, a strong and brave FMC who doesn’t care if it's against the law to wield weapons. This book is for you. It is a great story all on its own and wraps up nicely if you are not looking to commit to a series. If you are listening to it as a prequel to Blood & Steel, it sheds light on Wilder’s choices in Vows and Ruins and is well worth the listen.

This is a fantastic book! I am not sure if it can be classified as a novella but it is a prequel to the “Legends of Thezzmarr” series. I read the first three books than this one and the fourth just came out. I listened to all on here and i definitely recommend the audiobooks. All the narrators are absolutely fantastic! I know some people were the biggest fan of the female narrator in this but I loved her voice as well as the males. The story is beautiful, it does get steamy! I honestly enjoyed reading it after I already started the series I enjoy the emotional journey and learning backstories and having details filled in that I had previously wondered about.
10/10 recommend <3

Shadow Daddy

I fell in love with Druze and Talemir’s story. Such a SHADOW DADDY 🦇😍❤️ but this beautiful story between them is something out of a fairytale. 10/10 Definitely recommend!

A good start to the series

I liked the story, overall, but it became clear towards the end that this was just a glimpse into a much bigger world. Would have liked to know/see that a bit more here. Clearly, there a bigger fight with other characters to come.

I love a good standalone novel, and all the ones in this series are great, but that Audible makes it easy to find because they are all from different authors. Slaying the Vampire Prince by Carissa Broadbent, Slaying the Shifter Prince by Clare Sager, Slaying the Frost King by Candice Robinson & Elle Beaumont and Slaying the Naga King by Jessica M. Butler (not on Audible yet).
