The Chronicles of Malus Darkblade Book 1
Ambitious dark elf warrior Malus Darkblade leads an expedition into the dangerous Chaos Wastes, but finds far more than he had bargained for.
LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE
Adapted and expanded from the classic graphic novel, the saga of the most ambitious, treacherous and downright sneaky dark elf around (and that's saying something!) begins here.
THE STORY
When Malus Darkblade learns the location of a powerful relic, he decides he wants it for himself. Malus leads an expedition into the dangerous Chaos Wastes in search of this great weapon but finds far more than he had bargained for. Possessed by a powerful daemon, he must undertake an epic quest to save his very soul.
Written by Dan Abnett and Mike Lee. Narrated by Andrew James Spooner. Running time is 11 hours and 12 minutes (approx).

This was my second go through of the book, and i have only read this first book and now listened to it. To me it is akin to a warm blanket on a snowy day, this era of warhammer books are very nostalgic for me and the way that andrew james spooner brings to life the nefarious and cruel world both of warhammer fantasy and in particular malus dark blade was impressive, even as huge a fan i am of his. The book's journey takes you from malus's greatest triumph to his fall, setting the stage for what comes next rather well.
The biggest complaint i had with this book is some of the battle scenes could have been shortened given how many of them there are.
