Emily Michaels lives a life of privilege and prestige. She's been afforded luxuries that most girls dream about but it's only attributed to her lonely existence. Due to her disability, she doesn't feel like she belongs in the elusive world she's grown up in. That all changes her senior year when she meets Ryder Jameson, the tattooed bad boy who takes her breath away with a simple touch. A boy her parents would never approve of due to his lack of wealth and social status, but that doesn't stop her from being with him. Ryder makes her feel beautiful in a way no one else ever has. For the first time in her life, Emily finally feels like she belongs. Until the day her world comes crashing down, destroying the one chance she had at being happy.

FBI agent Ryder Jameson has been given the opportunity to run one of the largest undercover operations of his career. The case that gets tossed in his lap will take him back to the town he swore he would never return to and to the only girl who has ever mattered to him. He plans to not only bring down the corruption that has poisoned his hometown but he will also take back the one girl who was stolen from him when he was just seventeen years old. Ryder and Emily come from a world where politics separates them and wealth defines them, but they will not let it divide them.

Contains mature themes.

Worth a credit/purchase! This book was a wonderful surprise. The emotion of two broken souls and the love that survived years apart. Excellent all the way around - from story to narration, well done! ✨️

This was such an amazing book. The voice actors did such a great job and I was totally enthralled. Will have to listen to it again in the future!

Absolutely loved

Much drama, mystery and angst. Also, about true love among two young couples in high school that were forced to end it and separated for six years. Until they come back together for some serious drama that comes from Emily's family. Great narration from two fantastic voice actors Teddy and Callie.

Great story of the privileged and the not so.

This book ended up being much more than I was expecting and I really enjoyed it. I was prepared for a second chance romance but not all of the danger and drama surrounding the romance. If you’re the fence I would definitely recommend checking this one out.

Definitely worth it

Maybe I didn’t read the description. But I wasn’t expecting all the descriptive lust filled sex. (Not that I minded, just unexpected, glad I had my earbuds in) Overuse of the word “Baby”. Loaded with male dominance by the main character. But if you’re looking for all that, you will like this book. The storyline was kinda predictable but played out well.
Performance: The female narration sounded rushed.
