About this listen

One woman’s journey navigating motherhood and postpartum depression. She soon realizes she has lost herself and an identity outside of being a mom. Desperately she tries to hold onto anything that allows her to feel again. She finds taking the lives of others ignites her own spark and she becomes addicted to the rush of power she receives after a kill. Will this new identity consume her? Can she find her way out of the darkness?

This book discusses postpartum depression in an abstract way. It was one mother’s journey through her depression and her journal and fight for survival when things were at their darkest. This is my journey. I wrote this book to help me cope and find a way to hold onto the me I was before giving birth to my second child and not this new angry, resentful person I had become.

This was just…wow!

The narrator did an AMAZING job! I was entranced the entire time, and couldn’t stop listening!

As for the story, I have never seen such beautiful and well written characters! It’s hard to find an accurate and relatable representation for depression and postpartum depression, but Erica provides you with just that. She also provides excellent resources and makes you feel like you’re never alone. 🫶🏻

You will NOT see the ending coming! That’s for sure! I seriously listened to it in one setting, messaging the author regularly with how in awe and speechless she kept leaving me. This is definitely one of my favorite reads for 2023.

For those moms who feed on true crime

This book represented postpartum depression very well. In a sad, relatable sort of way.

This story follows a mother who feels she has lost herself and imagines killing the strangers around her. Then she put together a plan and started actually killing them!

The ending was a little predictable but still caught me off guard, which was nice.

Triggers: postpartum depression, attempted suicide, murder.

That ending!

I am a mom going through postpartum. I found this book very well written but I should have done my research because listening to a book that described my feelings while very relatable, was not enjoyable to me. So it is MY fault and because of my trauma that I did not liking the story. The ending was very surprising though and I loved that plot twist.
The narrator was fantastic. I loved her voice.

Recommend to ALL stay at home moms

This book and author hold a special place in my heart. This story is extremely relatable in the day to day life of a stay at home mom and the chaos we endure. page 147 nearly had me blubbering in public as I also enjoyed listening and following along to the audiobook book. (fantastic job narrator) From now on when "CRAZY" by Gnarls Barkley comes on the radio, I'll forever be reminded of reading this story!!
