What was the exact moment I decided to write Fang Fiction?
"In January of 2021, on a day when I was having a meltdown about another project, my book agent asked me what I would rather write instead. I whimpered through tears, “A girl wakes up in Buffy?” It had been a long year of pandemic isolation, and I just wanted to escape—preferably to a fabulous fantasy world filled with romance, adventure, and (you guessed it) extremely attractive vampires.
Three years later, I’m so thrilled to bring you a story that taps into that joyful rush of escapism and celebrates the deep bonds we form through fandom—both with our favorite fictional characters and our fellow fans. Really enjoyed this book! It was full of humor and heart. Love the many Buffy references, as well. As a Spike girly, it was definitely pleasing to listen to on audible as the main male lead sounded and spoke a lot like Spike did/does 😊

If you were ever a fan of Buffy, this is a must listen! Amber Benson is fantastic in voicing a large cast of characters. Her reading of the MMC in particular is a standout.

The story itself is excellent, full of heart and humor. The slow burn romance is great and the emphasis on the importance of friendship hit all the right notes. This is my favorite audiobook to date, very highly recommended.

Once the story gets going, I was totally into the characters however! One of the readers has a lisp that is extremely distracting. Also, it takes a while for the story to really get going so be invested before you start. It’s worth the read.

IT WAS SO FUN! I was supposed to be sleeping. But I mean, who can compete with this plot. My dreams aren’t that much fun. And the Swiftie references. I totally called the August reference. The Columbia University location gave me the major ick, because current politics (hello fascism). But otherwise, it was awesome.
