Publisher's summary

We were lost until Briar Valley offered us a home.

Love. Safety. Protection. But it came at a cost.

I ran to protect my family. Now, it's time to return.

When tragedy strikes, I'm forced to retrace my steps back into the arms of the men whose hearts I broke.

I've spent my entire life running. No more. The past is finally catching up to me, and my secrets won't stay buried as trouble looms on the horizon.

I must face the monster who spent a decade torturing me. For myself. My daughter. The countless other victims that he silenced with his brutality.

This town gave me everything. I have to protect it, or I'll lose the ones I love forever.

We'll fight to survive as a family. Together.

Where Wild Things Grow is a spicy small-town reverse harem romance and book two in a duet. It must be listened to in order, and there is a guaranteed HEA.

Where Wild Things Grow

This book picks up where book 1 left off. Willow takes Arianna and runs after her husband tracks her down in Briar Valley. She is determined to protect Ari and decides to leave her men behind. She struggles with living in hiding and is eventually forced to go back to Briar Valley after tragedy strikes the town. Dealing with the loss, and struggling to get through to the guys who love that she is back but mad because she left. Willow tries to pick up the pieces of her life and is approached with the opportunity to testify against her husband. She starts to tell her story.
I really loved this book. You can tell how far Willow has come. She was a broken woman, and with the help and determination of her mountain men and the town she turns into a woman that is determined to do the right thing and heal from her past. The relationship between her and the guys was a little struggle especially from the twins since they took to her leaving the hardest. I loved that they were still determined to help her heal regardless.

Sad this duet is over

This is my review for both books in this duet.

I'm such a fan of J Rose's writing. She's truly such a talented author, her writing is just beautiful. I love how all her books are in the same world while being such different stories.

This is definitely the 'lightest' of her books. The first is a really sweet story of love, strength and the incredible power of a mothers love. While then the second book is more suspenseful.

I listened to these on audiobook and usually I'm playing games on my phone. But for the last hour of the this series I stopped playing and just lay in bed listening. I was completely captivated not noticing anything around me.

I always say it's been a good whychoose when I love all the guys and man did I love these guys. Though I think Micah is my favorite.

Can't wait for my next read by J Rose.

Just ok

The story was fine. I really just didn't like the female narrator. She did ok for a female voice. She cannot do male voices. It was really annoying. And we barely heard from the male narrator. It also was a lot of words to get to the end of the story. I stuck with it because i paid for it. But I almost gave up in this second book.

DNF

The “accidental” pregnancy trope is a BIG nope for me.
In the first book, there a pregnancy discovered when she has a miscarriage (the father is the abuser…)
And why the need to have a pregnancy in a really dark romance and in a reverse harem makes absolutely no sense to me.

Nevertheless, the narration is really good. all the emotions are in the right place.
