Smart & Funny!

I really didn’t know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this! Both the main characters are well written, both are smart & sensitive. I also just loved the “librarian as hero” storyline! I wanted a break from the heaviness of what I’ve been reading & from life these days. This was a treat.

A fun and wild ride!

This was a wonderfully good time! I had so much fun with Lana and Griffin. The story is packed with romance and angst but not smut (which I love!). There were some very suspenseful and emotional moments too! Overall a great story!

Different and refreshing

Loved this mystery with just enough romance. There were twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and some that I did but every one was fun and the story was exciting and different

This was interesting, the 2 narrator concept was interesting, it helped to portray the story well. They are good as well. The story was interesting, there were interesting twists and turns.

Like the tension in the story

I would have preferred the female parts be read by the female and the male parts by the male. The chapter reads were a bit confusing

Two Narrators, a Terrible Idea

A fun little romp, but I curse the day someone thought, ‘Why don’t we have two narrators, so all the characters in the book sound different in every other chapter?’

Really charming book with just enough intrigue

Wasn’t sure what to expect, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. A little slow to start but worth the wait.

unique while being universal in its ability to let everyone completely relate to it

This was a whim listen and omg it surprised me how it grabbed my attention right off the bat. the plot is simple in its core allowing everyone to quickly identify and place themselves within its world.
Then in this slick and smooth way it grabs you up thrusts you onto this rollercoaster of mystery, attraction and some how also peeling away at the edges of what it is we do as a society to those we admire, we pay for entertainment and how we as people cope with the world physically and mentally. From points of view that should be hands down opposite we actually are surprised to see how similar each behaviors actually are.
All the while spinning back to focus on a mystery that could have dire effects on the very people we have come to want to protect from every aspect of conflict an pain they seem to careening towards.
The plot is simple yes but so whole layered with secrets, believeable character, cunning twists with a fair share of emotional and collateral damage that we as the readers/listeners don't dare to turn away.
Lana was brave while being humble and sensitive. The rest of the characters brought so much to the table that you watch her forcefully grow with each new challenge and puzzle. Watch her become more confident and just a little crazy as she pushes on to find her sister even as her life tips out of control. Loved this story, was expecting a cute and slightly adventurous romantic comedy and got so much more then I could ever imagine.
Laughs, Tears, Jump Scares, Intrigue and Just Enough Steam That You May Think You Left The Kettle On. (Spice level maybe 2 or 3 out of 5, foreplay an some epic fantasy level make out scenes before fading to black for the actual sex scenes)
