The huge cult status of “The Lord of the Rings” did not fully evolve until some years after Tolkien’s death and therefore there are few publicity pictures of him, and unlike J K Rowling, (rolling) the world-famous author of the Harry Potter books, JRR Tolkien never became a celebrity.

With the people and places that inspired JRR to write such an incredible piece of fiction this will prove to be an equally enlightening pathway to travel, uncovering a real-life character way more complex than Hobbits, Orcs, Elves, Ents, Dwarves and Wizards put together!

This is a short biographical essay on the life of J.R.R. Tolkien. If you don't know the name, it's not worth your time. If you do know the name, the odds are high that you already know much of what's in here. I have been interested in Tolkien and his magnificent works for close to fifty years now and I found a lot of little nuggets in this book that have encouraged me to search out a more thorough biography.
