It isn’t often that Kate Daniels and the Beast Lord Curran get to take a break from protecting their pack and enjoy some time for themselves. So when Curran offers Kate a romantic dinner in town, there’s no way she’s going to pass.

But their quiet night doesn’t stay quiet for long. The trouble starts with a necromancer dying at a nearby table, continues with bloodthirsty vampires crashing through the windows, and ends with more blood on the walls than any dining establishment needs.

Pulled into a deadly game neither wants to play, Kate and Curran find themselves dealing with the vile undead and tolerating a clan of maniacal, hard partying Vikings while desperately trying to save the life of an innocent child...

I was super hesitant to spend a credit on a novella - it always feels like a waste! However, it went on sale and I LOVE the dramatized adaptations so I got it. Totally worth it! It completely fills in the gaps of Gunmetal Magic (happening at the same time). The story is good! Lots of action and feels longer than the 4 hours. If you’re a KD fan it is definitely worth it!

Worth the credit even though it’s a Novella

wasn't fond of the music choices. they were distracting in that it really didn't meld well with the text of the reading.

gave insight on a few prior questions I had had.

It's a good little side novella. I do regret buying it though. I could have lived without it and saved the money towards the longer books. I have been going through this line so fast. I regret so fast because after hearing the graphic audio part it will be hard to go back to the regular narrator or even read them lol. And waiting for the GA version will be tuff. I spoiled myself and now regret. Told myself never to go to graphic audio. Now it's all I want to listen too. Unless it's one of the good books where the male and female do their lines no matter who's chapter it is. I wish I could look up duel or duet. But I can't find it.

Good

The story was great. not a fan of traffic novels to many distractions noises, music etc. The female voices were good. but the males, not well chosen. Wish the story had been longer but it was a nice filler.

Doolittle with English accent?
