A dark night. A darker secret.

On a cold, dark night, two cars collide …

Inside the vehicle at fault, Jennifer Ashby survives with barely a scratch. In the wreckage of the second, the occupants are not so lucky. Jennifer’s good character helps her escape jail, but she is traumatised by the event.

Desperate for a change, and with her marriage buckling under the stress, she convinces her husband Jon to move to the beautiful but wild Daintree region, far away from family and friends.

As Jon spends long hours at his new job and Jennifer makes plans to absolve her lingering guilt, cracks begin to form in their idyllic new life. Will the shadow of their past continue to haunt them? Will their dark secret be exposed?

A captivating domestic thriller for fans of Sally Hepworth and Liane Moriarty.

'Thoroughly absorbing, sharply plotted ... a formidable new talent in the twisty domestic thriller genre.' - Nicola Moriarty

'Propulsive and gripping.' - Ali Lowe

'Taut and atmospheric.' - Petronella McGovern

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will definitely be keeping an eye out for more from Susannah Glenn in the future. As an Aussie now living overseas, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the story is set in my homeland—but I would have loved it just as much regardless of the setting. With well-developed characters, an engaging storyline, and likable personalities throughout, this book was an absolute delight. Highly recommend!

Jen did make me a bit crazy, I wanted to be upset with her lol. The performance was so good as well as the flow of the Story that I was lost in all the emotions.

Such a great story

well they never did an excellent job the story is rather boring I had to listen to it at 1.2 time speed the author takes way too long to get to the point the only reason I finished is because I listened to stories like this is background noise while I'm at work the ending was very disappointing I'm not sure I would recommend it

the narrator did an excellent job so much better than AI voices that it's a shamr to even compare them.

A first for me by Susannah Glenn and I will be looking for more. Sacha Horler's narration is absolute perfection – the pacing, the tone, it's all spot on. This Aussie thriller had me hooked from the first page (or rather, the first listen). The writing is captivating, the plot is riveting and the characters are intriguing. Jennifer Ashby's life unravels in the blink of an eye when she's involved in a devastating car accident. Though she walks away with barely a scratch, the occupants of the other vehicle aren't so fortunate. She convinces her husband Jon to move and start anew. But as they try start anew, shadows of their past linger, threatening to expose secrets. The weight of guilt and trauma settles in. Will they find solace in their remote paradise? This book is a wild ride, so enjoy! Twisty surprises lurking around every corner kept me craving more. You'll need to pay attention, lest you miss a vital detail. “Between Husbands and Wives” had me listening late into the night. If you're an avid fan of psychological thrillers, do not miss this one. Well worth a credit, however I found this in Audible Plus at no cost. Epic, indeed!
