Amazing Audio!

They did amazing with this book! I love listening to Corvin King, so of course I got this book as soon as it came out in audio! the story was great too! I loved the progression of Kane and Ezra! I really want Revs book next!!

I really enjoyed Abigail's debut release, Drag Me Down, but I LOVED Ignite. Which is wild because dark romance and mercenaries are not up my alley AT ALL. Far from it, lol. In fact, as part of Abigail's street team, I had the opportunity to get an ARC copy of this book last year when it was released, and I declined it because I was terrified to read it. It should also be said that I have PTSD myself from being involved in an 🔫 event, and I'm not usually emotionally ready for something like this. That being said, I was ready this past week for whatever reason, and I snagged the audiobook. It helps that I also adore Corvin King's voice 🥵.

I will say that if this book had strictly been a "touch him and ☠️" vibe, without both characters being as broken as they were, I would not have enjoyed it as much. I loved it because they needed each other to heal, and they became stronger together. The touch him and ☠️ vibe wasn't a jealousy, but rather protection, and I LOVE that. I enjoyed Drag Me Down for the same reasons I enjoyed Ignite. The mental health rep is emotional and makes you want to protect the characters. This book is also the same lines as Jay Leigh's "Rainbow Brigade," FBI series, so Jay was a nice gateway before this one for me.

Dark Romance Done Right

I don’t think I paused this book for more than 5 minutes once I started it. Normally I’m interested in much longer reads than this one because I like the build of the romance and the character development, but I got all of that plus a dark romance done the right way from this read. Emotionally powerful without all the gory details of the backstories that made the characters who they are. Explicit spice that is romantic. One of my favorite parts: really solid ending chapters that made the story feel complete without being rushed. Excited to see which character’s HEA will be next.

My Babies!!!

I’d already read this but as soon as it was added to audio, I had to purchase and reread. Could there have been any better narrators than Corvin & Liam? I don’t think so! This is going to be my new comfort listen. Ezra & Cain are goals for what I love in mm romance!
