Kenzie & Nixon

This was my first book by Bella Matthew’s and I absolutely loved it! I just loved the chemistry between Nixon and Kenzie and the back and forth banter. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series. The audio was so god as well! 10/10 recommend!

Sexy and fun

Nixon and Kenzie gave me all the romantic feels I needed for this friends-to-lovers, fake-dating romance. Nixon has had a crush on her since he was a hormone infused boy. And now he’s fake dating her. Can this turn to something real? Nixon’s directness is sexy as hell. He’s so sweet how he loves her. And his rapport with his family and friends is hilarious.

I just love romance is like this. They go down easy. They are entertaining and fun to listen to. It’s sexy and makes you feel good by the end of it. And let me tell you it’s steamy with a capital S. Throw in some praise kink and it’s a memorable listen.

Lance does such a good humorous snarky character and it’s perfect for Nixon, especially when he’s chatting with all his friends, ribbing each other as friends do. I did think that certain parts of his narration were a bit sing-songy for my taste. But overall, his style worked for Nixon’s personality. Erin Mallon personifies Kenzie and her struggles with love. The pair of them worked well together.

Although I’ve only read the first book in the Kings of Kroydon Hills series I didn’t feel I was missing anything with this second-generation book. Bella Matthews does a great job at world building and not making me feel lost with all of the past characters making a presence. It made me want to jump in and read the back log and enjoy all of the books before this.

Love

Obviously I love everything Bella Matthews and her audiobooks aren’t any exception. Usually I love dual narration but this duet was amazing! The chemistry these narrators portrayed through was great!

Perfect romance

I first read this book as a ebook and this was my first Bella Matthew’s book that introduced me to this world. I really enjoyed diving into this story once again as I have read some of her other books and I am more familiar with the characters so I enjoyed it even more this time around. The narrator chosen for Kenzie and Nix did a wonderful job. I really enjoyed hearing the emotions in the book and I feel like they really brought the character to life for me. I also enjoyed how quick of a read this audiobook was for me I was able to speed it up and still listen to it and understand what was going on. I loved that the narrators kept me engaged and I was able to complete it within a couple of hours.

fall in love!

I thought I was in love with this story when I simply read the book. But hearing it jump off the pages like this? it's absolute perfection!!! There were a couple spots where I felt things were said a little odd, but I think they was more too natural accents coming through and honestly? They made the characters more real to me.

Something about a man having a special nickname for the woman he loves just makes me swoon. Especially when he’s done it for years without her even realizing. Nixon is a perfect mix of alpha man and total sweetheart, and he knows when to use each one.

Then there’s Mac. Who absolutely loves the nickname and that Nixon is the only one to use it. She’s been feeling wanted for years without it clicking in her mind until one day…poof!
