Elizabeth’s future is uncertain.
Mr. Darcy’s admiration is not.

Before his death, Elizabeth Stowe’s father sent her to live with the Bennets. She has lived most of her life at Longbourn and is startled to learn she is heiress to an estate in Scotland. Mr. Bennet adores his adopted niece, and he could not bring himself to tell Elizabeth the details of her long distant past ... but now he must.

Fitzwilliam Darcy did not expect to fall in love with a beautiful orphan, but from the moment he met her, he was entranced by Elizabeth’s fine eyes and sharp wit, which relentlessly demand his attention.

When Elizabeth is attacked by a mysterious antagonist, it is Darcy who comes to her rescue and finds a way to keep her safe from danger. Does the attack have something to do with her dead mother’s Scottish estate? With Darcy as her protector, Elizabeth leaves Longbourn and steps forward into an uncertain future.

This is a sweet and clean, low angst Pride and Prejudice variation where all of the Bennet sisters have happy endings.

Very entertaining. There is no rude comments by Darcy at the assembly. The Bennet family is much the same except they’re more caring and less flaunting of society’s norms. Which would make you think the story might be dull. But it is definitely not. I listened constantly wanting to know what happened next. Lots of twists but overall a feel good listen. I also really enjoyed the many epilogues. Instead of a recitation of the future it is a series of meetings or letters between different characters. Stevie Zimmerman’s narration is flawless as usual.

Different twists but still a feel good story

I can’t say I disliked the book, but it was a tad boring. The narration was excellent.

Not bad

This one is really interesting and unexpected. The character and intelligence of boteh Darcy and Elizabeth are unchanged but there are many other unexpected and enjoyable twists and turns,

A variation that really varies

Good plot and characters.
I like that Wickham was redeemed and there was no stress between Darcy and Elizabeth.

Great story

There were so many things in this book that I just could not get used to. Elizabeth with fiery red hair? And all the Bennets are blonde. It was just so weird. Even the title was weird for me. I think of that sentence as a trope, not a title. While characters are the same as canon, that is the only similarity. Little from canon happens in this book. The story is low angst for the most part but I kept waiting for the shoe to drop because at the point where I thought the story would soon wrap up, I looked at the time left in the story and it was around the halfway point. Good grief! What was to come if it needed hours more in the telling? It was still low angst aside from the attack on Lizzy. That part was high drama. It didn't last that long though.
I don't often see Wickham being written as he was in this book. I liked it.
The epilogue was quite long. Another thing weird thing for me to get used to. An epilogue told in three chapters...

The narrator was Stevie Zimmerman so of course it was excellent.

Interesting
