.........................

The perfect guy. The perfect date. Utterly disastrous timing.

There might be no such thing as the perfect guy, but Xavier Rush comes disastrously close. A gorgeous veterinarian giving Greek god vibes - all while cuddling a tiny kitten? Immediately yes. That is until he opens his mouth and proves that even sculpted gods can say the absolute wrong thing. But there's nothing Samantha loves more than proving an asshole wrong . . .

. . . unless he can admit he made a mistake. But after one incredible date - possibly the best in living history - Samantha is forced to admit the truth, that any kind of relationship would be impossible. Samantha begs Xavier to forget her. To remember their night together as a perfect moment, as crushing as that may be.

Only no amount of distance or time is nearly enough to forget that something between them. And the only thing better than one perfect memory is to make a life - and even a love - worth remembering

This book gripped me from the very beginning. Abby Jimenez once again delivers a story that’s both heartwarming and heartbreaking — light romance woven with deep emotional themes like dementia, caregiving, and childhood trauma.

The love story between Xavier and Samantha was raw, vulnerable, and incredibly believable. They fall in love at the worst possible moment, and that made their connection even more powerful. Both characters had so much to lose, and watching them open up to one another was moving and real.

The narration was excellent — it added so much depth and nuance to the characters. I felt every pause, every crack in the voice, every smile. It made the whole experience even more immersive.

If you’re looking for a romance that’s tender, complex, and filled with emotional truth, this one is worth remembering.

A beautiful, emotional love story at the wrong time

First of all, the narrators were brilliant. They suited the characters to perfection. It was beautifully written, real people with humility , humor and struggling through the complicated life we sometimes found ourselves in. A love story that is inspirational and you feel every emotion with them. I don’t know how to get over this read. The analogy of the egg is somethingI will think about for a while. I would also like to know what happened to the EarPod

Emotional depth and pure bliss

I fell head over heels for this story. Xavier, the grumpy but tenderhearted vet (yes, humans don’t deserve animals), and Samantha, the warm, sassy heroine, had me hooked from the first kitten rescue.

Their journey—between laughter, love at first sight, heartbreak, family struggles, and impossible choices—felt so raw and real.
At one point I was annoyed that he was doing all the efforts but I realized that dealing with a person you love who has dementia is a weight that I hope I’ll never know.

It’s the kind of romance that leaves you aching, swooning, and smiling all at once.
And Xavier… well, he is everything and then some.

This is equal parts romantic comedy, family drama, and emotional slow-burn swoonfest.
