Melanie Karsak had gotten a lot better at her fairy tale books. I like this one, it has a promising beginning to a wonderful series. :)

A good spin on Briar Rose

This was a fun take on the classic Sleeping Beauty. Cursed with pricking their finger and falling into eternal sleep, Aurora and Aubrey’s parents head out to kill the mage who placed the curse.

The story was face paced and has a good blend of getting to know the characters while also understanding the curses and blessings.

Melanie always does a great job with her world building and character development. I did not see that ending coming so I’m definitely intrigued on where the story will continue and can’t wait to read more!
