It’s the duet of a lifetime when a rock star and his backup singer find a new kind of harmony off stage in this sensational contemporary romance.

Clementine Clark isn’t looking for love. Growing up with a single mom who weeps over a new guy each week tends to have that effect on a girl. But Clementine doesn’t mind being the rational one—she’s even buried her musical dreams so deeply within herself that she hardly notices the hole it’s left in her life.

That is until her best friend calls her with a life-changing opportunity: to join Irish megastar Halloran on his first US tour as a backing vocalist. Clementine wants to reject the offer, but the pay is enough to change her and her mom’s life. Overnight, Clementine goes from serving enchiladas at the Happy Tortilla to belting high notes before a cheering crowd.

But the whiplash of trading small-town Texas for sold-out stadiums is nothing compared to the rush of performing with the enigmatic Thomas Patrick Halloran. Poet, introvert, and lyrical genius, Halloran quickly gets under Clementine’s skin. The two couldn’t see the world more differently. And yet, over the course of the next eight weeks on tour, the romantic rockstar might just strike an unforgettable chord in Clementine. But will it be enough for an encore?

This is my first book by Kate Golden and I really loved it! The humor, the real and honest parts of love, and the musical aspect really kept me reeled in the whole time. I found myself having conversations with the characters as I was listening 😂

I listened to the audiobook and both VA’s are fantastic! I’ll listen to anything Eric Nolan narrates. He truly adds a star to each book he works on.

Can’t wait to read more from Kate 🖤

Gimme anything with an Irish accent

I loved this story. It didn’t make me cry but I loved it, couldn’t stop reading. Music, love, a little rage, and drama. The duet narration with that Irish accent was delicious.

Hot and well written

At the beginning I was nervous it would be slow but once she got to Memphis, relatively early in the book, it was game over. I am head over heels with this book. It’s like someone took all the romance dreams most of us have had and put it on paper. It was romantic, hot and dreamy, 10/10 would actually read again. This main character only annoyed me a few short times when mostly romantic books have a tendency to make the main character loathable. Such a good book and obvi about Hozier which I think makes it *chefs kiss*

The story

this a really well written, less cringy than a lot of romance books and I did get really immersed in the story. The one thing I'm hung up on though is that it's not just "Hozier vibes" as advertised, it's literally a fan fic story fantasizing about Hozier and all the common knowledge things about him, just with different names. It's got me feeling conflicted. I can't imagine how uncomfortable Hozier would be knowing this story is genuinely published and someone's making money off of it. it's giving uncanny and parasocial. if there was even an effort to make it less directly about him, it would've been better.

if I wasn't a fan of Hozier this would've been epic
