Publisher's summary

"An absolutely delightful treat to savor! Relatable, sexy, and beautiful."—Elena Armas, New York Times bestselling author of The Spanish Love Deception

Summer won't last forever.

Sage Byrd has lived in the coastal town of Spunes, Oregon (not to be confused with Forks, Washington) her entire life. She's learned to love her small world, with the misfit animals on her hobby farm, and her friendships with the town’s inhabitants. But when her 5-year relationship ends and her ex, town-golden-boy Ian, suddenly gets engaged, Sage needs a win—something that will convince everyone to stop pitying her all the time, and to put Ian in his place. The Festival of Spunes, the town’s annual summer competition, would be the perfect opportunity. She just needs a partner.

Fisher Lange was a hotshot chef in New York City until the loss of his sister left him numb, grieving, and responsible for his teenage niece Indy. When Fisher loses his Michelin star along with his love of cooking, his boss sends him and Indy to Spunes on a much-needed summer sabbatical to consult on a restaurant opening. But when clashes with the townspeople threaten his last chance to redeem himself and a kiss with his new neighbor Sage leads to dating rumors, a strategic alliance might just be the best way to turn things around.

A deal is struck. Sage will improve Fisher’s image in the eyes of the town and remove the roadblocks he is facing with the restaurant, and Fisher will be Sage’s partner for the competition. But as their pact quickly turns into steamy rendezvous, emotional wounds begin to heal, and the pair tries to savor every moment, they start to realize that summer is racing by much faster than they would like...

Filled with spicy summer fun, small-town charm, and Big Feelings, this highly anticipated romcom is Tarah DeWitt’s best yet.

"Simply unputdownable. A top read for me this year!"—Elsie Silver, USA Today bestselling author of Flawless

"DeWitt’s sprightly narrative is by turns funny and red-hot, as Sage and Fisher, who share a love of puns, develop some serious chemistry... This is a charmer."—Publishers Weekly

Super sweet story- excellent narration

3.5 stars

Super sweet story. Great for a palette cleanser or if you love a slow burn. It was a bit spicier than I thought it would be too! Two characters dealing with grief and growing together. Realistic pain and love.

Zachary Webber and Karissa Vacker are incredible. Both nailed all the quirky side characters. Zach playing the teenager, Indie, was golden. Audiobook is definitely worth it if you’re trying to decide btw reading or listening.

Typical small town romance

It was ok. I think it had potential it didn’t reach. The characters and setting were fun but the story lacked excitement. The love story had no ups and downs that keep your interest, just lots of very descriptive sex. The troubled teenagers’ story was never really developed. The ending was blah. I love anything narrated by Zachary Webber but this book put me to sleep several times before finishing.

Perfect characters, great read.

What I liked about this novel was it didn’t drag on with the characters chemistry. Performance was perfection. Both likable characters. Zachary Webber with his performance as always a perfection. So does Karissa Vacker she is always great. She usually narrates mystery and thriller but I thought she was perfect in this character as well. All around great story, great everything. Loved it.😊

Delightful

I think it’s rare to find an audiobook that balances humor, sadness and sexiness without making it feel contrived, but DeWitt does this seamlessly. This book made me giggle, blush and cry and I can’t wait to dive into more of her books. I’ll also listen to just about anything Zachary Webber narrates as well, so that doesn’t hurt either.

A Thoroughly Enjoyable and Delightful Listen

This is my favorite FMC in a little while. She’s flawed in beautiful ways, and still never comes across as selfish or ungrateful, winey or like she’s taking anything for granted. It was just a refreshing change of pace, I don’t mind a damaged character that is flawed in those ways, but this was just a really nice change of pace. And the MMC too was flawed in this beautiful way due to his self awareness. They’re story of finding each other and in turn themselves to was just incredibly sweet and lovely along with the side story of Fisher and his niece figuring out how to get on the same page with each other. I just really really enjoyed this story.

The narration was on point. Zachary Webber is always an auto listen for me, but this is instantly one of my favorites of his, and the voices for the side characters in this book were particularly on point in this one. This was my first time listening to Karissa Vacker, but I thoroughly enjoyed her and the fun and playfulness she brought to Sage really came through. This was just an overall delightful listen.

One of my top for 2024

I have devoured over 100 books this year, this is by far top 3 for me. Great character development and realistic angst. I’m a sucker for a wonderful small town. Gives Gilmore girls mixed with Abby Jimenez books vibes. 10/10 recommend

Sweet story…didn’t think the F-bombs were necessary or added anything to the ambiance.

Small town setting was interesting in comparison to all the chef character had experienced and devotion to family was a big plus,
OK…not the most compelling story with all the teenage angst & therapy focus. But it represented caring & development of a relationship & putting family first even to the detriment of self.

So amazing. Must read

Sage and Fisher are everything. A grumpy & sunshine couple that’s so easy to love. I just thought the whole story was fantastic.
There’s gotta be more books, right?? All the Byrd siblings seem deserving of their own stories, and I would especially love to dig into Wren and Ellis. If this isn’t turned into a Spunes series, that would be my only complaint

Fantastic audio

This was a great story that Karissa Vacker and Zachary Webber just knocked out of the park. Perfect romance for the summer written by Tarah DeWitt. Savor It is contemporary romance crack. It's S to the 4th power: Small town, swoony, sweet and spicy! The FMC was a little bit 'not like other girls' which can be annoying (in general), but everything else about this book was so perfect, I'm letting that go. I think fans of Stephanie Archer will love this book. Can't wait to read more from Taray DeWitt!!
