30 chapters in and story progression is about 1%. Like, I get it’s good to know what is going on at MC’s head, but it’s painful to hear it over and over again. The story progression is soooooo slow I accidentally played it for an hour in my pocket and guess what? Nothing even happened. I am interested about what happened next. I’ll finish this book and going to get the next one, but for now it’s for sure a step back from the first one.

Had to take a break from internal monologue. I’ll get back to it at some point.

Compared to the first it filled a lot of the back story and made more world building efforts. Now if the next book in the series does the same thing I'll be upset, but so far it wasn't bad. There was some moments that felt drawn out, but it seemed to be pointing out character growth.

tbh not the best but better than the reviews say

This book was just as good as the first one. as long as you go into it knowing it will spend most of the book on a single level, with Xavier getting stronger, you'll be fine. great addition!

Great must read

My previous review on book 1 involved a warning ‼️ because of the time it took to get into the book before getting good. However, it got better in book one and continued to be good in this book.

My only problem with this is book besides previously stated grievances is that this just feels like a damn speed run. That’s fine it just felt like things were rushed along to get through all this. With a massive power creep leaving 99.8% of everyone else on earth as NPC never gonna matter and can’t change crap.

Maybe I am wrong. I do so hope I am. I will keep reading but I am sad to think this is completely a one man whole show nothing else will ever matter kind of book.

*ps MC is also still insufferable at times and acts like a child.

Still good for what feels like a speed run with TERRIBLE power creep.
