A walk down memory lane? Tidy.
I kept accidentally triggering the pause function while listening to this audiobook because my earbuds thought I was speaking to someone. I wasn’t. I was gasping, laughing, crying. For any Gavin & Stacey fan who's seen the Fond Farewell documentary, you might think this is more of the same, but I can assure you, you're in for a treat. Though this is the audio version of the same book by Ruth Jones and James Cordon, I honestly can't imagine reading it, since it's 100 percent conversational: peppered with clips from the show, readings from emails with friends and producers, and plenty of in-character impersonations. You get to tag along for their writing process and learn how they each faced the pressures of new-found fame. But above all else, this is an ode to friendship. The love between these two is just so palpable, I feel grateful and privileged to have been invited to listen in. —Emily C., Audible Editor

I found Gavin and Stacey on prime in 2018 when I became an empty nester and was obsessed with it and wouldn’t stop talking to my friends about it. I had to get BritBox in 2019 so I could watch the Christmas special and was so thrilled when the 2024 special was announced. being in the US, I had to wait until the day after Christmas, but it was worth the wait and you two reading this book just takes me from laughter to tears throughout the chapters. Thank you for all the memories and laughs. I have since watched Fat Friends, Stella, etc. well done you two! Love from Chicago

It’s not a traditional audio book. It didn’t need to be. It brightened my evening as I cleaned for an hour after Thanksgiving. I WILL BE FOREVER thankful for their creative talent, and the stories of love and the connections people CAN have in this cynical world. I think anyone who loved Gavin & Stacy wanted to be part of their world for a bit, and this audiobook is a way of spending time with them.

I will love them and their show forever
