Witch cozy mystery with a talking cat in a magical town

USA TODAY bestselling author Carolyn Ridder Aspenson invites you to Holiday Hills, a charming small town where magic hides in plain sight, secrets simmer beneath the surface, and murder has a way of ruining even the coziest plans.

This first collection in the Witches of Holiday Hills Cozy Mystery Series delivers everything cozy paranormal readers love: witches, familiars, small-town intrigue, humor, heart, and mysteries that refuse to stay simple.

📚 THERE’S A NEW WITCH IN TOWN
A quiet life, a writing career, and a normal future vanish the moment I learn I’m a witch. Add a murder, buried family secrets, and a dangerously attractive police chief, and my new life in Holiday Hills turns deadly fast.

📚 WITCH THIS WAY
The magic deepens. The secrets grow sharper. And just when I think I understand this town, another twist proves I don’t. Cozy charm meets escalating danger as Holiday Hills shows its darker side.

📚 WHO’S THAT WITCH?
Chaos erupts without a body in sight. Nothing is what it seems, and the truth hides behind layers of misdirection, magic, and snark. Cooper, my talking Burmese familiar, may be the only one paying attention.

Welcome to Holiday Hills
• A magical small town hidden from humans
• A bookstore and coffee shop at the heart of the community
• Witches, shapeshifters, gossipers, and stubborn old coots
• A sexy police chief who complicates everything
• A sarcastic talking cat who steals every scene

I’m Abby Odell. New witch. Cozy mystery writer. Amateur sleuth by necessity.
And in Holiday Hills, learning magic is the easy part.
Surviving murder is another story.

Perfect for readers who love witch cozy mysteries with animal familiars, small-town paranormal suspense, and amateur sleuths!

Fun characters and stories. Love the cozy mysteries of Holiday Hills.
The familiars are also hilarious!
Each book is a nice stand alone story, but together you get drawn into Holiday Hills and all the colorful characters!
Wish it was easier to tell which order they Sous be in.

Love the characters

this should have been read by a real person it's very hard to follow. there's no feeling in it.

the cat is the best part of this story.

I just want to say that no one was burned in the Salem witch trials. that's all.

I just want to say

The auto reader mispronounces words & phrases constantly. you need a human being to really communicate a story. Otherwise words are mispronounced and phrasiology is miscommunicated. it makes it very hard to follow a story

The story has merit, but the AI reader buries, the story.

This gets a mixed review. The author writes fun, light stories in a genre I enjoy -- cozy witch/paranormal mysteries. However, its done with virtual voice that means words are mispronounced (and not even consistently within the same title -- the name "Dylan" gets pronounced like both Dye-lyn and dill-on, etc. Intonation is entirely dry without appropriate inflexion. At times, you have to think about the meaning because stuff like sarcasm and humor require tonation to really make the meaning clear. ETC.

So, I enjoyed it enough to listen to the rest of the series, but only for "free" (with my membership), due to the virtual voice and because I am desperate for books to listen to while working.

great story, but need to get real voice
