Jack expected to live out his new fantasy life in peace, but now he and his misfit crew of rebels are the only ones preventing a tyrant emperor and his regime from taking power. Thankfully, everything isn't quite as hopeless as it seems—Jack has a plan. Sort of. With only a handful of supporters, he's going to get the jump on the bloodthirsty empire by snatching one of their key cities right from underneath their noses. In order to pull off the impossible, however, Jack's going to have to develop his formidable Shadowmancer powers, raid some ridiculous dungeons, and make some shady allies—allies who may be more dangerous than the empire itself.

loved the struggle and the strategy a little predictable at times but you where kinda of hoping it would go that way anyways so I was ok with it

I was worried after the first book but now the story is picking up I look forward to the next book.

Probably in the older listeners of this series. However I played mmorpg since everquest in 98/99 and then wow. I still think the author does not have much experience in the game genre. Like the insane overpowered enemy which nullify our heroes ability. Specifically since characters should be opposed the enemy char should not be able to use his light either. Whatever he called himself he basically were a paladin with a specific class kit...

So expect from stuff like this, and the insane overpowered items (15% bonuses? If you get 5% from a set you are lucky...) it really is a good idea and I will probably get all of it, even if only 3 of the books are free. But that is great to test a series i probably wouldn't had because of buying 7 books or more. With premium deal and tons of free books is truly a great deal.

Good story. Great societal and political undertones. Fun and exciting the whole way through. Although for a RPG story they seem to miss out on describing a lot of the loot and character building. Still not sure what he got from the Moss Hag?

Great Narration fun story

Does all kinds of accents, the story is fun. Treatment of AI seems interesting so far. Wish the books were longer.
