Hockey players were never my type.
At least, that’s what I thought—until I met Conor Nilsen. In truth, I didn’t know he was the goalie for the Chicago Falcons when he struck up a conversation the night of my bachelorette party.
He proved he wasn’t just some hot guy looking to score when he helped me get my drunk bridesmaid safely back to our hotel. That’s when he discovered my 30-before-30 bucket list—a list I hadn’t managed to check a single item off.
What was meant to be a night of stargazing turned into so much more. The chemistry between us was undeniable, and after one innocent night together, I started to question everything—especially my upcoming wedding to a man I wasn’t sure loved me.
Fast forward to my wedding day, and just as I’m standing at the altar, Conor bursts through the church doors to object. And now, somehow, I’m his roommate. Yikes.

I've been waiting for Connor story (for one reason, goalies are the best), and it did not disappoint! From the moment Connor sees Eloise at her bachelorette party, obviously not having a good time and in a tough situation, he jumps in to help her. From that first meeting, Connor feels an instant connection, something tethering them together, and as much as he wants to explore it, he walks away because she's not single.
“But I’d be lying if I told you anything other than the more time I spend with you tonight, the more I wish I had met you first.”
“I’ve never felt this before, and I’m trying to navigate these new feelings, but I feel lost in the middle of the woods without a compass.”
However, he's hooked and can't get her out of his mind. So, like any man who's fallen hard and ready to put his playboy days behind him, he decides to stop the wedding.
From the start, Connor is supportive of Eloise, pushing her to put herself first and leave her people-pleaser tendencies behind.
“You overthink what you should and shouldn’t do. Live life for yourself
He's also very protective of her and their relationship.
“I want to be the one to calm your fears, to empower you, to be the one you seek out to find refuge.”
I love that Eloise made a 30 by 30 list, and once she's free of her ex, she's determined to start crossing things off. The way Connor offers to help her with it, tells me he's a keeper, and when he finds her other list, and offers to help her with it, too... Well, just let's say that she's doesn't say no.
Oh, and the found family vibes and endless banter from Rowan, Kylie, Henry (Daddy), Jade, and Tweetie are the best! I can't wait to dive into Tweetie's story next!
Connor Crais, Luci Christian Bell, and crew do an amazing job narrating this one?
Swoon-worthy for sure!

Connor and Eloise are perfect.
The instant connection and their relationship development was perfect.
Not a fan of the side storyline but I am glad it didn't take over the entire plot or I think it would've ruined it for me.
Can't wait to read Tweetie and Tedi's story next because I have been waiting for that one since the beginning.
