My spirit was shattered by the time I was four years old. Beatings and verbal abuse were a normal part of life for me. By the time I understood what death was, there was no doubt in my mind that if Mother could have killed me and gotten away with it she would have done so. But the abuse didn't stop with her, two of my brothers decided that I was their personal sexual plaything. I had no one to turn to, no where to run. This is my story of survival.

Tragic story

Very well written

The story was very disturbing because of the harsh truths of child sexual abuse. There were so many times that I felt angry toward the abusers and found myself having to put the book down for a day or two.
So many of these types of stories have the same parts to them which makes me wonder if abusers have a playbook they all go by. Absolutely horrendous that children have to go through this. We need to be better protectors for them.

Too slow

Didn’t end well. Did not explain what happened after she met her mother. Anticlimactic Why didn’t she explain how she got from the abuse to having her own children. Very disappointing
