They say nothing is as it seems, but I never expected this.

One night out with my friends and everything changes. I was just supposed to let loose and forget about my miserable life for a few hours. Instead, I find myself hunted by masked men, powerful warlocks who crave me for reasons I don't yet understand. Each one represents a different fate—none of them good.

Now, I'm the prize in their twisted game, and they'll stop at nothing to claim me. But I'm not the helpless prey they think I am. As their powers weaken with the waning moon, mine are growing. And I'm learning—fast.

But the closer they get, the more I feel it—the pull between us. It's dark and dangerous, and it's driving me mad with desire. Damien, Adrian, Ronan, Lucien... each of them wants me for their own reasons, but I'm determined to stay in control. They think they're hunting me, but maybe I'm the one who's going to break them.

The only question is—who will I let catch me first?

Why the the female narrator giving the MMCs accent when they didn’t have one when the male narrator was narrating? And why are her accents for ONE MMC so inconsistent??? Adrian has an English accent, but her accent makes it sound like he’s part English and part….something else the other times. I don’t even know. It takes me out the story so much.

AND WHERE EVEN IS THE PLOT??? 50% in and we still have no idea what the Order wants from her. And the whole “woah she makes me feel so I must have her and no one can claim her” trope is so over done and the fact that everyone became so obsessed with her ON DAY 1. Selene’s lady parts must be sore, falling on 3 swords in two days.

I am literally just finishing the book because I wasted money on it. Wish i didn’t but here we are. So hopefully the book gets better and I shall give an update after I’m done with the book.

UPDATE:

Okay, just finished. & just a follow up on the female narrator - not that you get used to the whole change of accent thing for the MMCs, but it helps if you’re not really paying attention too much. I ended up playing mobile games lol.

This book is pretty much 70% sex, 20% backstory, and 10% plot. Is the percentage division too harsh? I’m not sure - I just remember a lot of sex and a lot of backstory, and then we’re given some plot in the last few chapters. I mean if this is your type of story, whatever floats your book. Glad I didn’t pay full price on this.

Male narrator - The only saving grace for this audiobook

I really wanted to like this book because of all the hype building it up. I'd like to say kudos to Morgan for talented writing and bravo to Ryan and Ash for sensational narration!

I couldn't really get into the theme of this book. It was more about black magic, Hocus Pocus rather than real life happenings.

I thought the intro was interesting leading everyone into a magical party then there was so many new characters introduced. It was hard to keep track of who was speaking unless they announce that person's name things got very confusing. I would rather that the author would have focused on our main couple and their love story. Not a bad book just not for me. Maybe you'll love it. Check it out. Namaste.

Not whatcha think...🌙

Repetitive and cliche… four times so far author has used the cliche saying “ room/woods/world .. held its breath” Very flowery writing but lacking substance and kinda disjointed. Feels like a very AI driven story.

Great narration.. not so great story

I don't think there was a single point in time where I knew what was going on. The story is completely disjointed. I feel like I'm falling asleep, missing entire portions of the story. Vocabulary is narrow, largely repeating the same simple words to describe things, not much of a variety. All the sex scenes are from the man's point of view, which I'm not a fan of. Maybe we eventually hear it from her view but I'm so confused about this book I had to write the review while in the middle of listening.

What is even going on??

I really wanted to enjoy this book but the characters actions don't make sense. some insight as to why she's doing what she's doing but instead she just does it
the men. same thing. nice backstories but again. why?
