I did not care for this story in any way. I got Shards of Stardust because I liked the title and the cover, and I also read the synopsis. However, the synopsis is very vague and does not really say anything about Daniel being such a slimeball character.

What I really should have done was listen to the audio sample first because, OMG, the narrator was bad—like beyond bad. This book might not have been so difficult to get through if the woman reading it could pronounce the words correctly. My own voice is terrible, almost like a person who has had a stroke, and I know it, which is one of the reasons I do not read out loud in any capacity. So for me to complain about narration says a lot.

The writing itself was okay, but I just truly did not like the story, the characters, or the audiobook narration.
