Decent Read

The stories are engaging. Cheryl May and Mikela Drew did a good job with the narration.
There is quite a bit of foul language. There are three different EMP stories in the set. The first story has less foul language, then the foul language gets progressively worse.
The story lines are similar. All of them have anarchy and extreme violence beginning within hours of the EMP, which I find unrealistic. I imagine that if we ever have an EMP strike, life will become very hard within a day or two, but not within the first couple of hours. My recommendation for anyone purchasing this box set, would be to listen to the first story, then listen to something entirely different for a few reads, then come back and listen to the next story in the set, etc. If you dislike foul language and extreme violence, skip this one altogether.

Extreme amount of foul language!

I had trouble getting into the actual story because of all the foul language. I am not impressed at all. I know stories can be written without having to listen to this kind of garbage.

Some decent ideas ruined by authors obsession with SA

The book set contains standalone stories, which all generally follow the same storyline. Female MC gets thrown into the apocalypse with general understanding of what they need to do to survive, but must endure trials to get to whatever location promises the survival haven.

Either the author has never met another human or bases all character personalities on the extremes. Female characters start off seeming independent and strong but need a man to survive at some point. Almost all are targeted for some sort of sexual assault or at least harassment.
Male good characters are stereotypical strong types, bad characters are obsessed with assaulting females are leering over underage girls. They don't come in and want to steal your food, they have to sexually assault then oh don't forget to grab the food.

Understanding of survival and people's behavior is mediocre at best. The series was a struggle to get through.

Lots of foul language, raping and shooting

Did not like the excess foul language, raping, murder, shooting. Would have liked more about surviving skills in a powerless world.
