Minor Flaws Don't Detract From a Compelling Narrative

I want to start off by saying I truly enjoyed Rise of the Infernal Paladin. The premise is sound, the characters are believable, and the power increases are satisfying.

I also enjoyed the narrators performance. His character work reminds me of Jeff Hays in a positive way, and I wouldn't mind hearing more from him. He did especially well with the female voices.

My gripes with the book are minor, mostly based around editing, repeated lines and shifted points of view. I think this could have used a little more time in the oven, but as of this review I'm already partway through book two and I've already seen a vast improvement. For this reason I'm not taking as many points as I normally would for these flaws, the author clearly learned from them and improved.

All in all, I very much enjoyed this book and hope to see this series to continue for a long time.
