Empowerment

The realness of the topic and the powerful way to raise up yourself and other women spoke to me on a higher level. Learning to put yourself first in multiple areas of your life. Being real all the time and to everyone. I liked what you wanted to stay to the women at yoga class that crowded your space, made me think of the question I recently learned and will be asking others that are condicending "did you mean for it to sound like that?" Being able to question those that are only thinking of themselves can be very freeing. Embrace yourself and be the best version of yourself.

Quintessential Erin - authentic, raw and trailblazing

Fellow hype woman here. I have been following Erin’s journey the last few years and am a BIG fan. Erin is a vanguard in the kind of feminism I subscribe to. We need more like her/us to drive real change - and this book is our rallying cry. As I listen to her tell her story, I find myself “talking” back like we are sitting IRL in a coffee shop as she tells it. “Same.” “Yeah, me too.” “Oh, girl…no they didn’t.” What a timely book that beautifully and boldly challenges way-outdated, and often harmful, gender narratives and conditioning. In solitary… LFG!

An inspiration for women everywhere

I think Erin Gallagher owes me some chiropractor and masseuse appointments after all the head nodding I did reading her book! ;)

Seriously, Hype Women far exceeded my expectations - and they were already high. I saw so much of myself in this book, and it’s refreshing to hear someone say it out loud. I love hearing it in the author’s voice; it takes it to a whole new level and feels like listening to a friend.

I didn’t realize how much Erin and I (and no doubt many others) had in common, including one of my most toxic workplaces (due to one particular person and the systems that let it go unchecked).

I also learned some new things, which I didn’t expect. Who knew trauma bonding involved the victim and the abuser?! I always thought it was people bonding over their shared traumas. Mind blown!

This is the 21st century’s Rosie the Riveter, we can do it anthem. I cannot recommend this book enough - for women to take back their power and men to learn.
