From Captive to Creator—The Birth of a Legend
Eric Henson was just another software engineer from Austin, Texas—until the day a dark portal swallowed him whole and hurled him into Iriddoria, a world of magic, danger, and brutal survival. Captured, branded as a utility-class Artificer, and deemed worthless for war, Eric is thrown into a pit of rejects, facing a future of servitude or death.
But what the slavers see as useless, Eric sees as opportunity.
Armed with his mind, his ingenuity, and his relentless drive, he must navigate a cruel system, survive the horrors of slavery, and rise beyond the chains that bind him. His unique knowledge of science, engineering, and Earth’s technology offers him a rare edge in a world where power is dictated by strength, magic, and lineage.
From forging golems and crafting enchanted devices to mastering the lost arts of an ancient civilization, Eric’s journey is one of learning, innovation, and defying expectations. With every skill honed and every challenge conquered, he inches closer to freedom, power, and a place in this world that refuses to accept him.
A Realm of Power, Secrets, and Scheming Lords
Iriddoria is a land where the empires of old have crumbled, leaving behind arcane artifacts, forgotten technologies, and hidden wonders. Dominated by mighty nations like the Valtterrium Empire and the Kingdom of Celestoria, the world is as perilous as it is enchanting.
Eric’s path is paved with betrayal, ambition, and intrigue, from the slave markets of Azure Reach to the halls of powerful Tinkerers who shape the future of Iriddoria. Every alliance he forges is a gamble. Every creation he builds is a step toward something greater.
But powerful eyes are watching.
A scheming empire. A deadly kingdom. A secretive order with its own agenda.
And among them all, an old acquaintance: Amy Wilson, another lost soul from Earth—but one who has learned to thrive through lies, deception, and mercenaries willing to kill for her next score.
As Eric rises, so too does the danger.
Innovation. Exploration. Revolution.
With each invention, each discovery, each battle won, Eric moves closer to claiming a future of his own making. But Iriddoria is a world that does not take kindly to outsiders disrupting the balance.
Can a mere Tinkerer rise above warriors, mages, and kings?
Can logic and invention stand against raw magical might?
Can a slave become a legend?

For an AI narrator it’s one of the best I’ve heard so far. Would be better if it used a human or, since the MC is male, used a masculine voice.
The story itself is pretty good but suffers from either poor writing, proofreading, or editing. I don’t know enough to say which. There are major issues with pacing that come from horribly inconsistent time, distance, separation between plan and action, and an excessive description of everything. If you can get past that it’s a good story but, if you’re willing to risk missing the relatively small amount of information that actually progresses the story, you can skip a little over half of every chapter and have a better experience.
