War rages, loyalties are tested, and love is more perilous than ever in this thrilling and eagerly awaited sequel to the breakout hit Metal Slinger.

It's been four years since Jovie betrayed Acker, fracturing their relationship. Her decision to take King Edmond's magic, sparing his life at Acker's request, has sparked a brutal war. The Kenta and Strou forces ally against the Roison and Alaha, with Maile perched dangerously on the edge of their battles.

Jovie is determined to keep the innocent Maile people from a conflict she helped start―even if it means suppressing the Matching Bond and sacrificing any hope of repairing her relationship with Acker. Yet, visions of him continue to haunt her dreams.

Acker is resigned to aid in his father's war while in an arranged marriage with a wife who detests him. Though still pained by Jovie's deception, he can't stop his thoughts from turning to her. And Acker has found a way to slip into Jovie's dreams despite her attempts to stifle the Matching Bond. There he watches her, torn between his loyalties and desire.

When he discovers the chilling reason behind the return of his father's magic, as well as Edmond's dangerous new alliance, Acker must finally decide which war he wants to fight: the one for his king or the one for his heart.

Narrated in duet style.

GOD TIER — And the only read Ive had ALL year that made me freak the fuck out from chapter to chapter. This is sliding into my “best read of the year” slot!!! Thank you Rachel Schneider!!!!

I was texting my friends with big feelings, fully on the emotional rollercoaster with these amazing characters. Light Wielder took me on QUITE a ride, and I loved every minute of it even when it was emotionally damaging me. Dare I say this was even better than the first book? And that’s saying a lot because Metal Slinger is one of my favorite books of the last couple of years!!! Jovie is such a bad ass. GAH these books are my obsession!!!

The enemies to lovers we expected after the end of book one FULLY delivered imo. Both of them are so wounded at the end of book one, and I thought Schneider did an expert level job of taking us through their emotions in book two. Nothing is rushed, everything I wanted to explore between them was explored. It all feels earned.

Chapter 25 was EVERYTHING, and it was epic the way Acker inserted himself and dominated that situation in a very Acker way lol.

Messer and Jovie… these besties are so good together. I can’t wait to see Messer get his girl in the next book! I’m so grateful we’re getting another one!!!

I loved that we got to see Jovie for who she really is through this entire book. Last time she was hiding for most of it (for good reason!), but that’s not the case here. She is truly a sight to behold. Acker also has my heart forever. That fucking nose ring lol. Love that we got the back story for it. That dude definitely walks the line of being problematic, but as a deep reader of this genre, obviously I love that.

Rachel if you need a beta reader or a hype woman at an event or something, I’m here for you girl 😂

God tier second in series!!!

The first time in a long time or like ever that I had to go and read a synopsis of a prior book. I was so lost in the first few chapters of this book. I highly recommend rereading the first book. There has to be a book #3 but its release isn’t announced yet. There was about a year in between these too. Overall, it was good, I think me being confused at first dampened my mood towards it.

Overall a good book

Andi Eloise and Anthony Palmini are an epic duo to narrate this book!

I know this got mixed review, lots of people felt underwhelmed, some loved it!

I am one that enjoyed this sequel to Metal Slinger! I did read it back to back, and I'm so glad that I did! It kept the magic system and world building fresh in my brain so that I could go right into Light Wielder with all the info in my brain!

Glad I read/listened to this close to book 1!

An outstanding audiobook! I finished it and immediately wanted to start it all over again. A phenomenal sequel that raises the stakes while staying true to everything that made the first book so memorable. Now I’m eagerly counting down the days until book three.

Well worth the wait
