The reality of battling monsters every few days to protect the human race is somewhat less 'Saturday morning cartoon' and somewhat more 'child soldier war story.' But that allure of magic always called to her... and one day, she's given an offer to have everything she's ever dreamed of.

She promptly says no, because the offer is from one of the most obviously evil women Luna has ever seen in her life. She's pining, not stupid. Get out of here with that blatant monkey's paw crap.

Unfortunately, it turns out obviously evil women don't take to being told 'no' all that well. The next thing Luna knows, she's waking up in a robotic body, unable to speak and bound to follow the whims of the monster she tried to reject. How can she find freedom when her every thought is bound in servitude? Will any of the Earth Guardians she's now being forced to fight realize she's in need of help, or are all of them far too busy with their own problems—including but very much not limited to saving the world?

And if she does get saved... is there any chance she could keep the robot body?

Fantasticly district characters

Such a great story. The characters are well designed and consistent. There seems to be an incredible amount of research done into all technical aspects. I did start to get upset with the MC over her attitude towards some of her allies but given how the emotions are so well controlled throughout, it was probably by design. Looking forward to the next book.

That Ending

Love so much of this. Cant wait for the next book. Hope it wont be to long.

Blindly entered, left wanting even more

bought entirely on a whim because it happened to be 5.99 USD at the time which i now realize was an insanely good STEAL. an excellent narrator made this excellent story AMAZING. i can't deny there were times where the main character talking to herself made me have to pause but the narrator made it perfectly fine. finding a book with a: female MC, who is a lesbian, who is neurodivergent in such a relatable way is extraordinarily rare. regardless of the price you get it at, the story quality for the length that it is makes it worth it no matter what! and now i excitedly await the next volume.

Instant favourite

Already this series is my favourite that Natalie Maher’s written. It’s so compelling and the characters are so delightfully complicated; I seriously could hardly put it down; I already wanna relisten to it. It’s surprisingly upbeat for a book about robotic servitude but it still takes everything seriously. I highly recommend giving the audiobook a shot. Royal guard did a great job with the casting for it. The voice actress had some great voices and really brought it to life.
