I'm starting to think hooking up with my gym bro roommate might be kind of gay…

The thing about guys is that we communicate on a physical, primal level. A hearty slap on the backside just means “good game, bro”. Some good old fashioned roughhousing just means we’re comfortable with each other. Some late night stress relief? Just dudes being dudes…

Right?

We’re just friends. Just roommates. Just a couple of guys doing what guys do. So what if I can’t stop thinking about kissing him?

Is there a way I can “no homo” my way out of this? If I'm really honest with myself, I don't think I even want to. So… maybe YES, homo?

Jacked is a low angst, double bi-awakening, idiots to lovers with a pair of meat head roommates stumbling their way through falling in love with each other without even realizing it. Lots of wholesome masculinity, an Only One Sleeping Bag moment, and ‘Bro’ as a term of endearment.

I will admit AJ and Slater’s story took me a while to connect to. Theh were just so goofy. Once theu started being real with each other and vulnerable I was able to tell them apart and like them individually. The humor remains throughout but I was able to really like the book once the heart was there also.

Kirt’s performance was fine. I jusy wish he had differentiated the MMCs voices better.

The characters were a bit hard to differentiate at first, but by the end, their personalities popped.

The storyline was hot and fun, the guys were 'dumb jocks' but adult, responsible dumb jocks.

There was no irritating 'huge misunderstanding' or grating immature behavior. And the kinks and sex and body love was steamy and well written.

A fun, smutty read.

Low angst, steamy himbo smut

AJ and Slater were so cute. This was a great listen. I loved the narrator. I loved that this was a no angst HEA. That’s my favorite kind of read. This book was sexy, heart warming and cute all at the same time. 10/10. I am interested in Logan’s story though.

Loved it!

I think this was one the best romance novels that I have ever read. The narrator was perfect for this story and its characters. The story was clear, well edited, and kept me engaged from beginning to end. It was missing one thing: homophobic characters that spew their distaste for homosexuality. THANK YOU FOR THIS! I enjoyed listening to a story that focused on the development of the characters’ relationship; the exploration of their physical expression of their attraction; and their indivisible self-discoveries. More this, please!

One of the best.

What’s not to love about a story that has two adorably oblivious gym bros that have a bi-awakening for each other while living together.
Slater and AJ meet as roommates and instantly become best friends. Both are Himbo gym bros who don’t realize that they live in a gay area of their town, work or workout in a gay gym, all their friends are gay, and that their instant friendship might be rooted in attraction.
Seeing their relationship blossom is so wholesome and sweet. They are able to talk and confide in each other without feeling too self conscious. And that leads to trust and support that they don’t initially realize they need but might have been missing, on AJ’s part anyway.
Kirt Graves, who has done May of K.M. Neuhold’s book narrations, is one of my favorite narrators and he does both parts in this one. He gave both men distinct personalities and I really enjoy his performances.

Kirt Graves is always a good time IMO
