Good advice

Some of the military lingo felt forced and could use more examples of challenges with kids, but overall good advice across different topics

PREACHY BRAGGY WOKE SLOG

We love jumping in puddles and Jocko’s “Way of the Warrior Kid” and thought Puddle Jumpers might be amazing too. It’s NOT. It reads like ChatGPT wrote it and was being paid by the word. Puddle Jumpers is full of the average advice the loud dad sitting in the bleachers of a kids sporting event vomits on you even though you didn’t ask. Be specific you say?

Ultra-privileged entitled military brats fly private planes, get given elite training, overseas trips, and education, and use dad’s connections to get ahead. The fake false humility and bragging is sickening.

Painful repetition of “it takes a village” African Proverb popularized by Hillary Clinton. See the article in the Atlantic about this exact proverb entitled “The Most Useless Piece of Parenting Advice”.

Section on environment: Darwin and Evolution: Adaptation occurs to groups (populations) over generations, NOT to individuals. Most readers know what Brandon means when he says kids adapt but he specifically ties the idea to Darwin making his use of it scientifically and factually incorrect.

Brandon is vocally pro-transgender. He specifically addresses non-binary, transgender, and inclusion with approval. He tells kids to go for it on sex and porn which he calls “European”.

He says screens, video games, and social media are horrible but he gives them to his kids and recommends you give them to yours too.

Puddle Jumpers won’t be replacing “The Whole-Brain Child” or “How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk” or “Way of the Warrior Kid” on top of parenting best seller lists. It’s more of a woke pseudo memoir knockoff of Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother, but without the real emotional depth, or any original thoughts, and filled with awkward out-of-place military jargon. I truly deeply sincerely hated it.
