Alex had sacrificed everything for the sake of his friends.

He had traded his future for a chance to cripple a divine tyrant hell-bent on destroying everything he held dear, paying the ultimate price for the sake of everyone he loved.

Now, he had a second chance.

A chance to start over, free from the malice and machinations of all his foes.

A chance to live out the isekai fantasy of a peaceful life that he had always yearned for, in the distant desert city he could just make out, across the desert sands.

Or he could turn around and race to the aid of a doomed caravan just minutes away from being overrun by raiders, and charge into a fresh new adventure full of excitement, wonder, and peril, growing in ways he never had before.

Either way, the choice was his.

Eager for a fast-paced adventure filled with deadly adversaries, exotic adventures, and mighty cultivators fighting for the power to topple kingdoms? Then press play!

The story is a good fresh start IMO.
But as other commenters have stated, the way all the female characters slobber after the MC makes thise characters feel empty and shallow, no depth.

Very good and fresh. But...

Love this series and the performers (Wayne and Reba) who bring this story to life everytime I hear them perform! Excited to see where the story goes and another great performance by Wayne and Reba!

Great Story!

this book is technically a continuation of the series but it's also a soft reboot of sorts, which is why I'm so confused that the author almost immediately chose to retread old ground

don't get me wrong it's a good story but why give things a "fresh" start only to immediately start walking down the exact same path with the same tropes.

enjoyable but confused by the direction it chose to head.

This series has a pattern to it. MC starts getting powerful and having worth while relationships and then... reset. May not lose everything but the progression takes a step back. Last book we finally get some kind of conclusion to the story line...and again reset, but hey this is a new life without any of the old restrictions, he can finally do everything he wants!... lasts a few hours.

Next his relationships with women, All these women love him but for one reason or another he can't be with any with them. At this point I think the author is afraid of commitment. Might as well leave them out of the book. Its one of the thinks that keep me listening but its so frustrating.

Now everything else, the world, the magic, the skills, the system. Its great!

MC himself, has taken on death itself, has crippled a god, but his whole life is a commitment issue. Haven't finished the book yet, so I will see if I ends with me loving or hating it again.

I had stopped listening in the last book, due to lack of interest and boredom with that storyline ( I just felt it dragged on too long) when the synopsis said that mc would get a new start elsewhere I got this book to check it out. so far I am enjoying....but a few things kinda make me want to stop listening, first, the obsequious way the female characters just latch on to the mc, and the syrupy dialogue (I 've started fast fwding thru them) it just seems his maturity has taken several steps back,i write this as he has just gotten to the school, and that observation remains relevant . honestly I prefer listening to inner monologue describing the intricacies of spirit crafting the his female interactions. when he's not dealing with girls his age it's actually an enjoyable listen. I tried not to list specifics to avoid spoilers. I will refine this as I continue to listen.nope mc is still a spineless idiot when it comes to women

GOOD CONTINUATION, BUT....
