Lt. Colonel Marilyn Morgan, a brilliant chemist and military officer, leads a clandestine project at a secret base, studying a mysterious artifact with origins unknown. But when an experiment goes awry, Marilyn finds herself transported to another time and place, far from the life and world she knows.

Now, with limited communication and support from her team, and all but cut off from modern comforts and conveniences she once took for granted, Marilyn must learn to adapt and use her scientific expertise and military training to survive in an unfamiliar world.
