The only thing worse than hating him? Wanting him.

Nico

Kirby “Packy” Paquette used to be my teammate, roommate, and best friend. But everything fell apart when he slept with my ex-girlfriend.

Just as we were about to start our professional hockey careers, our friendship exploded into bitter fights, damaged reputations, and a seven-year rivalry.

We never talked about what happened. Instead, we let pride take over, and our on-ice hatred has become legendary. No one doubts how we feel about each other, especially not us.

Packy

Things were fine until the league called a few weeks ago. Now, Nico Rossi and I are stuck together on a PR tour, trying to make nice and ignore the past.

There’s just one problem: the cameras catch everything we can’t hide, and social media is obsessed with us. The attention is so relentless we’re questioning what everyone else apparently already knows.

We’re trying to pretend the past doesn’t matter, but this forced proximity is slowly making us face the truth. We’re starting to wonder if we ever understood what we were actually fighting about.

Hidden Power Play is the fifth standalone in the bestselling Buffalo Warriors Hockey series. Expect a high-heat MM hockey romance featuring vicious rivals, a bi-awakening, explosive tension, chaotic found family, and a hard-earned HEA.

4/12 the date that changed everything 😁. I love this series and I’m glad we got Packy’s story. It was also nice to meet Nico and the condors. The narrator did an excellent job bringing Packy and Nico to live. Packy was a little frustrating at times but it was true to form for a bi-awakening story.

Packy gets his HEA

I didn’t just read Hidden Power Play—I felt it in a completely different way through this audiobook.

Alexander Cendese brings Nico and Packy to life with so much emotion and intensity that it honestly feels like you’re right there with them—on the ice, in the tension, in every quiet, aching moment they try to hide. The way he captures their history, their frustration, and that undeniable pull between them? It wrecked me in the best way.

The chemistry hits harder. The longing lingers longer. And those moments where everything is about to spill over? You can hear it.

This story already had my heart, but the narration took it to another level. I didn’t want to pause it—I just wanted to stay wrapped up in Nico and Packy a little longer.

The Kind of Audio You Don’t Pause

Nico and Packy deliver the kind of enemies to lovers tension that grabs you right away. Their chemistry, their banter, their messy heart, it all lands. And Alexander Cendese lifts it even higher in audio, giving their dynamic a whole new depth.

Perfect Enemies to Lovers & Awesome Narrator

Alexander Cendese did an amazing job of bringing Nico & Packy to life. Hidden Power Play was everything you’d want in a story and the audio just made it so much better. Honestly will definitely be listening to this multiple times.

I’ve loved this entire series, but rivals-to-lovers is one of my favorite tropes. Having Nico and Packy working together and growing closer again was a great choice. These guys go through a lot, and there are several moments that will make you cry, but this is such a wonderful romance. Ryan and Josh knocked it out of the park this time (or maybe it’s better to say readers won the Laurentian Cup with this one). Narration was amazing, per usual with Alexander Cendese.
