The team returned to Earth from the Netherworld, having received absolutely no help from the useless Nether gods of Asgard.

They will have to find a way to prevent a Convergence, without divine assistance. Fine. They will do that, somehow.

Except first, they have to get back to their own Earth, the one they left from. Not the one they stepped into. Not 1940s France. Where all the people are dead. And monsters are hungry.

As usual, Craig Alanson gives us a story with lots of action, humor, and interpersonal fun. I enjoyed the story which included spirituality and ancient gods.

Action Packed!

although a little drawn out the story keeps my interest and entertains me in my travels. fantasy that sounds plausible? maybe not but fun to listen.

continuation of a good story with interesting characters.

I concur with many of the other reviews: A little too much filler-- 'explaining' and 'slice of life' dialogue. It might be time to close out this series and start something new. Book five was awesome, but for some reason this book seemed a bit rushed in its development and delivery. If it is setting the stage to a final book of the series to 'tie up' all of the various threads, then I look forward to Book 7.

The plot and story line seemed to follow the same expected formula from all of Alanson's previous books, making the flow somewhat predictable. It's time to 'get on' with the convergence and let the majority of the characters move to the "Happily ever after" ending. Close out the Convergence series. There will still be the obvious follow on sequel involving resolution of the favor owed by the wizard to Mr. Boots ("advertised" ever since that character was introduced).

Why I say "rushed" production: I have never given a presentation involving Bray less than 5-stars until now. I hate to nit-pick, but it does tarnish the listeners' experience when the performer uses the wrong word ("half back" instead of "half track," in Chap 12 @ 14:00 and "Nitrogen Goggles" vs. "Night Vision Goggles" in Chap 28, 7:42) or when the wrong 'voice' is used with a particular character (Chap 12 @ 19:13 "Boots" speaks with Duke's voice). There are other 'feral bloopers' in the production-based on other reviews I have read-- the same kinds of mistakes usually presented only at the end of the performance in the 'blooper track.' I don't blame R.C. alone for these, as it's something the entire production team should address.

Good... but not "Craig" and "R.C."s best...

Gotta love anything with a goofball ferocious talking knot tying dogdog, and a grouchy cat. lol
