Sensational

This series is an absolute must read. Don't let this masterpiece of Anticipation pass you by.

My only complaint is why can’t this be longer!

I enjoyed the first book a lot and have been WAITING for this to come out, the story is getting interesting, growth is fun to read and listen too, like I mentioned before my only complaint is that I wish it was longer… now I’m going to have to wait for book 3.

Entertaining but got bogged down by crafting detail

I like the series and Magnus might be my favorite of Seth Ring's MCs so far. Big fan of the more slice of life nature of this one too. That said, I would have like to see a bit more happen here, maybe more exploration of his town and territory, more world building, learn about his new mages, etc. The solo crafting adventure when in a bit too long IMO.

One small complaint - having the formal name of the summonable companions be "mysterious beasts" is pretty bad... even in book 2 it still sounds notably stupid.

Will definitely try the next one but if the sole focus is on helping his GF's trial, then I'll be disappointed.

Enjoyable but...

The story didnt really go anywhere in this book. As a moment-to-moment listen its fun, but id like there to be more to the story than day to day progression. This book mostly sets up the next. Ill give the next book a shot but if its similar to this i wont be continuing.
